I don't know of any other 63 year old that looks as good as the Boss! Just returning today from the Jersey Shore and saw these photos of Bruce in Rio this week.

Just unbelievable-is he feasting on the souls of unborn babies? :hmmm:

No wonder he can do 3-4 hour shows nonstop

I saw him at the Sprint Center last year. Tons of energy. Maybe he goes to the T-center.

Paul McCartney is 10 years older and was every bit as energetic when I saw him a couple of years ago. I doubt he works out, though.

That is the most insane thing I have ever read on Chiefsplanet. More insane than the people who thought Romeo was a good hire. More insane than the people who were excited about the Ryan Sims pick.

Seriously, man. What are you thinking? Have you never heard Jungleland? Cadillac Ranch? Thunder Road? Or were you just born rich and have never had any connection to America?

I suspect that the two are linked. You have to be in good shape to do those shows, and if you do those shows you're going to end up being in good shape.

Y'know, I try to be a tolerant guy. If we disagree on Kendrick Lewis, that's fine. If we disagree on Obamacare, it's a complex issue. If someone supports Al Qaeda, well, I don't understand it, but I'll deal with it.

But to not like Springsteen? That surpasses all reason and trumps any social etiquette that would otherwise compel me to silence. That's just not right, and it needs to be addressed swiftly and justly.

I also must admit that I'm kind of sweet on his wife Patty Scialfa. Long, lean redhead with the voice of an angel who can play Springsteen songs on the guitar. That's hard to beat.

(lurker sighting!) Have to come in and back up Rain Main and others on this one. There are very few bands I ever wanted to see live. Most live music isn't as good as the studio recording IMHO. If all their gonna do is sing the songs .. well .. I can listen to the recording and not fork over my hard earned cash. Bruce and the E Street Band is top on list of live performers for me. You never know what stories you're going to get that night, or what version of songs you might get. He can do the same song rock'd out, acoustic, or solo piano. I get that his voice might be a bit of an acquired taste, but not everything he does sounds like Born in the USA either.

He has an acoustic version of Born To Run that I may actually like better than the rock version. It's amazing how he can change that song to a ballad. It's not the version I've got, but here's a video of it. He's talking a bit at the beginning, so the song starts at about 3:00.

Seriously, man. What are you thinking? Have you never heard Jungleland? Cadillac Ranch? Thunder Road? Or were you just born rich and have never had any connection to America?

Rain man. I couldn't agree more so few poet singers these days.

jungleland lyrics

The rangers had a homecoming in harlem late last night
And the magic rat drove his sleek machine over the jersey state line
Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a dodge
Drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain
The rat pulls into town rolls up his pants
Together they take a stab at romance and disappear down flamingo lane

Well the maximum lawman run down flamingo chasing the rat and the barefoot
Girl
And the kids round here look just like shadows always quiet, holding hands
From the churches to the jails tonight all is silence in the world
As we take our stand down in jungleland

The midnight gangs assembled and picked a rendezvous for the night
They'll meet `neath that giant exxon sign that brings this fair city light
Man there's an opera out on the turnpike
There's a ballet being fought out in the alley
Until the local cops, cherry tops, rips this holy night
The streets alive as secret debts are paid
Contacts made, they vanished unseen
Kids flash guitars just like switch-blades hustling for the record machine
The hungry and the hunted explode into rocknroll bands
That face off against each other out in the street down in jungleland

In the parking lot the visionaries dress in the latest rage
Inside the backstreet girls are dancing to the records that the d.j. plays
Lonely-hearted lovers struggle in dark corners
Desperate as the night moves on, just a look and a whisper, and they're gone

Beneath the city two hearts beat
Soul engines running through a night so tender in a bedroom locked
In whispers of soft refusal and then surrender in the tunnels uptown
The rats own dream guns him down as shots echo down them hallways in the
Night
No one watches when the ambulance pulls away
Or as the girl shuts out the bedroom light

Outside the streets on fire in a real death waltz
Between flesh and what's fantasy and the poets down here
Don't write nothing at all, they just stand back and let it all be
And in the quick of the night they reach for their moment
And try to make an honest stand but they wind up wounded, not even dead
Tonight in jungleland.
