View Full Version : Chiefs Debbie Downer reporting to duty.

Hello everyone,

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/8c/Debbie_Downer.PNG

It's good to be a Chiefs fan. 4-0 is something many of us did not expect 4 weeks ago.

But let me be the devil's advocate for a moment.

The combine record of the teams we've beaten so far is 3-13.

The only semi legit team that we've beaten is the Cowboys and it was by the skin of our teeth, 17-16. The rest are big meh. Even Dallas's wins were against the Giants and the Rams, two horrible teams. The same goes for the Eagle's only win, against the Redskins.

Alex has been good, but against a good team, I don't think we can afford stalling in the first drive of the game.

If we beat the Titans soundly, on the road, then I'll truly believe that this team is legit. However, right now, I think it's a great defense and a mediocre offense.

I am enjoying the ride but wanted to tame our expectations a little bit.

Flame away

You can only play what the NFL gives you on the schedule.

Seriously, I just don't know what you think you're accomplishing here other than pissing in everyone's Cheerios. No one except the homerest of homers thinks we're a dominant team at this point, and if you think you're somehow pointing out things that aren't obvious, you're dense.

However, we were complete dogshit last season, and now we have a defense that is legitimately good and an offense that is good enough to win when the defense gives it plenty of chances. Arrowhead is rocking, and the fans have a team they can really get behind and root for again. Is that somehow a bad thing because we aren't likely to go from 2-14 to 16-0 in one offseason?

We're going to struggle against top teams, of course. Beating the Broncos will be a HUGE challenge, and our best hope is probably to split with them. But what exactly were you expecting coming into the season?

Rome wasn't built in a day. There is NO downside to being 4-0, schedule notwithstanding. Bad teams will find a way to beat themselves even against other bad teams.

Bad post. Wait until you've lost to some good teams, then you can start to measure your team in the cosmic spectrum of things, but it is pointless to post what you did.

Everybody knows you have a soft schedule. A team has to begin somewhere. Rape the soft teams and then you take it from there next year. You are trying to build a contender. This year, take it for what it is. Nobody expects you to go to the AFC championship game this year.

You can only beat the teams on the schedule, and lets me honest about something, if this had been one of our teams from the last five years we would be lucky to be 2-2. Good teams find a way to win. Its not always easy. Its not always pretty either.

Out four game win streak is huge, regardless of who we played. Even if we play .500 ball the rest of the way we end up being a 10-6 team. Looking at our remaining schedule six wins shouldn't be a problem. In fact, if the oline gels I think we can find more than that.

Quit your bitching and enjoy the ride. Its been a while since the Chiefs have been relevant.

Unfortunately, there just aren't many good tests in the regular season for most teams, but yeah, after today it's kind of dumb to continue on with it. It's tough to tell exactly what you have after a week or two, but now that it's been a month, it should be pretty clear to everyone... and if the 2nd half of today's game was any indicator, it's beginning to improve.

They say coaches look at quarters of the season... they'll have a decent test or two next quarter, then shit gets real in the 3rd quarter. Looking forward to it.

I understand the skepticism, but I think that people who look at the other teams records, are failing to see the entire picture of what is happening with the CHIEFS.

The Chiefs are playing better every week.

They didn't play good at all on offense against the Jags, and had that punt blocked.

They played good enough to beat the Cowboys, but the offense definitely needed work.

Short week at philly, dominated by the defense, and late execution by the offense.

To this week, which was just a beat down. Only some penalties and turnovers really kept the game interesting. It was a mismatch from the word go.

The Chiefs physically, and mentally beat the Giants down. Look at how many Giants got hurt in this game. Both Tuck, and JPP if I recall correctly. among others.

It was damn impressive today.
