View Full Version : Football Jags are throwing in the towell

Ravens acquired LT Eugene Monroe from the Jaguars for "multiple third-day draft picks."
Another out-of-the-blue trade. Monroe is one of the better left tackles in the game but hasn't gotten the recognition because he's been stuck in Jacksonville. He's struggled a bit this season just like the rest of the Jaguars' offensive line, but he graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 10 left tackle last season and is signed through 2014. Bryant McKinnie will likely move to the bench or be released, while Michael Oher will remain at right tackle. Monroe is just 26 years old. Luke Joeckel will likely take over at left tackle for the Jags.

Damn, that's a good pickup for the Ravens.

I can't believe they traded him for 3rd round and later picks. Even if it's 4/5/6/7. Ravens need to save their picks though because they need to draft 5 wide receivers for their shit ass offense.

Congratulations to the AFC North champions, the Baltimore Ravens. Monroe is exactly what they needed. McKinnie has gotten lazy and fat and hasn't done his job at all.

Joekel is taking over at LT so the jags aren't "throwing in the towell" (sic). The article clearly states this.

ps, I love your sig.

Hey, at least they are trying to get SOMETHING out of someone they definitely aren't going to re-sign. Chuefs should have traded Albert last year.

That's what they said about the Browns.

Yeahhhh, but the BROWNS HAVE TALENT.

The Jags have NOTHING. Their defense is an absolute joke outside of Paul Poz.

The offense, they have Blackmon coming back, MJD is done, Cecil Shorts is an okay second option, but their oline is a wreck, the qb is just beyond ridiculous.

They need all the picks they can get. So when they go to London, they are completely young, and new.

MJD is done. He came out this year and said he didn't even know if his heart was in it.

Cyprien isn't bad and Josh Evans probably has a chance at being productive in the future but yes, they are significantly void of talent at a large number of positions.

You could. They discussed this on the radio here this morning. Let him go for a 5th. He may still have some gas but he's definitely given up on this team. Used to like the guy but no more.

Sounds like they are just ready to move ahead. Joeckel is the LT of the future, so why not let him play there now...?

They weren't too different from us with their two tackle situation. It wouldn't make sense for us to trade Albert since our season seems to be going places, but good for the Jags I guess for trying to build ahead.

They don't need the distraction. Far too many questions about that guy to ever be able to count on. He's nothing but a NFL back-up caliber QB and they already have plenty of them on their roster.

With Monroe gone, the team has just one player on the roster (defensive end Tyson Alualu) from any of the three drafts between 2008 and 2010.

from an espn article...if you actually drafted by throwing darts, you'd have a better outcome...3 years completely wasted

I don't think they really needed to put in any more effort if they were going to tank. They may very well be one of the worst teams in the modern era of the NFL. They are that bad.

 What??? At 4-0 you want to move your best lineman Brandon "The Truth". HELL NO!!! Lets just hope Fisher catches on, he isnt half the tackle that Albert is right now. Not even close. Cmon man. :shake: Lets just pray Albert stays healthy...we NEED that dude!

The Chiefs should have traded next year's first to get Monroe. We need DEPTH at the O-line!

You're new, I get it.

Let me fill you in:
We had morons all off season on this forum claiming Albert sucks and we should let him walk, and that the all-star Eric Fisher can easily come in and mop up opposing D-linemen.

anytime you see a "/truefan" at the end of a statement, it is typically a stab at the morons.

My money, is on Clowney in the first, and a qb with the first pick of the second round.

That's what I would see.

What better to sell to the Brits than Clowney.

That's bullshit. Trufans have always wanted to get rid of albert or at the very least "just kick him inside to guard".

If only Fisher weren't sucking ass, we could have moved Albert for a pick also. By all rights, we should have been able to move our first overall pick to left tackle, our third round vet into starting right tackle, and gotten a pick for Albert from either Pittsburgh (Levi Brown) or Baltimore (Monroe).

We might have even recouped the second rounder from Alex Smith.

BUT NO

Instead Albert has no value, getting penalty after penalty after missed block and Fisher looks like he's giving Team America "the signal" every time he faces a counter move.
