We're winning in Denver but dropping back-to-back home games? No. And I think predicting back-to-back road wins is pretty far-fetched, too.

Finally, IND is overrated. Chiefs will beat that ass at home. Oh, and finally finally, no way the Chiefs are swept by SD.

JJ Watt will have his way with our line. We won't be able to get anything going and I don't see us having any success with him wrecking shit in the 4th quarter like we have all season.

Show us, Chiefs. Show us that your record is exactly who you are and fucking PLAY LIKE IT when you go up against division opponents.

The way our respective teams are going, we SHOULD sweep the Raiders this year and the next. But I'm not going to believe it until I see it.

Thus, I'm going to assume we drop one to that wet fart of a team.

Up to this point, I don't really see how you can compare this years organization to that of any of the past 10 years of chiefs football.

Up to this point, I don't really see how you can compare this years organization to that of any of the past 10 years of chiefs football.

So I guess carry on with the "show me" talk, but up to this point, they pretty much have showed you that things are different

1. Andy Reid isn't impervious. Every coach in the NFL is susceptible to the bad loss. Bill Belichick loses to the Buffalo Bills every other year or so. The Steelers fuck up against the Browns. Every coach/team has those type of moments. Andy Reid is no different.

2. It's been FOUR games. We still don't know shit about this team, really. We know they've got a good defense, but we have no clue what that defense will look like health-wise or even scheme-wise later in the season. We don't know if the offense is going to improve as prophesied or if they're going to remain stagnant and shitty, kind of like Brian Billick's Baltimore Ravens. An offensive coach with loads of success in his coaching career doesn't guarantee a brilliant offense necessarily.

3. Along that same line, if rookies like Eric Fisher get the "It's only been four games" line (which makes sense, I'm not saying he doesn't deserve more time to figure shit out) then only four games logically isn't enough time to judge if the Chiefs have completely turned over a new leaf when it comes to playing division turds like the Raiders.

In summary, yes, the "show me" talk is totally 100% still applicable to this team. Up to this point, sure, it looks like things are different. But also keep in mind that if "up to this point" had any reflection on reality, then Justin Houston would finish the season with 30.0 sacks and the Chiefs would be 16-0.

It takes a long time to really prove that things are as different as they seem. Especially when you've been in a hole of shit and losing as long as the Chiefs have.

Hog's Gone Fishin

It's going to be very difficult to not make the playoffs at this point. As in "epic 11-game collapse". They can literally play sub .500 ball (which seems unlikely after starting 5-0) and still finish 10-6.

The thing is, these are not cheap wins. Yes the games have been close late, and yess the offense has looked like ass 85% of the time, but there's no gifts or flukes here. They're making plays to win. Hell, they're 5-0 and there's legitimate room for improvement, but even so they've outplayed everyone they've beat. No mirages, no smokescreens.

Overall we have a 77% chance of making the playoffs.

At 10-6 our chances of making the playoffs are also 77%.

The Redskins might have their shit together and I can see a split with the Chargers, but yeah....this team is winning 11 games probably.

The skins d seems really shitty and I don't know but that the chargers aren't put together with band aids AT&T his point.

But yeah, I think we probably lose one of this two games

I think we're looking at 11-5 or 12-4. We're playing sort of a "live by the sword, die by the sword" style of ball. There are going to be some losses. Unless or until we start showing some consistency (good) on offense.

Donk's chances are 95 and NO's chances are 99. So averaging over all 3 teams it is close to 90%.

Seeing that commercial on the snf game with the predator reminded me, I went to one of my buddies house for a dinner and drinks thing the other night, and his dad is this uber talented oral surgeon/plastic surgeon super rich dude.

Anyway, they have a life size predator statue in their basement, and a storm trooper, and a carbonite Han Solo on their wall. I wanted to steal all three

I will not concede being swept by the Donks, We split with them, win the rest, and Dungver loses to the Patriots giving us the division win and homefield throughout the playoffs. Patriots the the other bye. Indy and Cincinnati are the 3 and 4 respectively. Broncos are the 5 seed and Miami the 6. Broncos beat Cinci, Indy beats Miami. We defeat the Donks at Arrowhead, then advance to the AFCC where we face the Colts who have just shocked the Patriots, and just like in the regular season, we shut down Luck and redeem 20 years of playoff futility by finally making the big game. In a showdown of stout defenses, we ultimately prevail over Wilson and the Seahags for the Superbowl victory.

I can dream. Right?

Not beating the fucking shit out of a rudderless Houston team at home would be a big, big disappointment.

That team isn't as bad as they looked tonight, but they're far from good, too.

I don't know if I ever addressed that claim, to be honest, though I certainly wouldn't have agreed with it at the time.

The defense is playing quite well, and it's evident that the team is well coached. If Smith can combine the last two weeks of aggressiveness with more crisp play, this team becomes a threat to make real noise in the playoffs.

You didn't address me, per se, but you made several snide remarks referring to the Chiefs "supposed" ten win floor. BossChief did several times as well.

This was the most contentious, bitter and venemous offseason, ever, on Chiefsplanet.

I guess going 4-12, 2-14, 4-12, 2-14 in a short period of time pisses people off. I just hope we can all get back to "normal" soon.

I don't think there were many people seriously predicting a 5-0 start or a potential 10+ win year.

In fact, I distinctly remember being criticized by members of the homer brigade for saying .800 or worse would be a disappointment, that it was expecting too much from a 2-14 squad.

The next 3 weeks, we play a terrible Faiders team, a Texans team that is in disarray and a terrible Cleveland team all at home.

The Cowboys are the closest to a real team we'll see until we go to Denver.

I don't remember that, but it's possible. Emotions have certainly been on edge since Pioli ran this thing right into the ground starting in '09.

I really liked the hires of Reid and Dorsey, but I hated the philosophical decision of trading for Alex Smith. Ultimately, it might prove to be right and for me to be wrong.

I get your point about Houston falling apart and if Schaub continues to start the fallout continues but if Yates starts not that I am a huge Yates fan but it stops the bleeding and Houston's D can more than handle AS and our offense. Cleveland has a damn good D as well and with our high octane offense:D that game could be very close as well. These 2 games are my trap games because we are at home and Houston and Cleveland are not pushovers in any form or fashion.
