Let Tyson Jackson walk, and sign this motherfucker.

DE: DeVito, Bailey
NT: Poe, Toribio
DE: Ratliff, Catapano

Hell, you could let Bailey walk next year, too. Ratliff and Poe can be your down lineman in defensive alignments.

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3391

NBC's Michele Tafoya reported during Sunday Night Football that NT Jay Ratliff (groin, reserve/PUP) is likely done with the Cowboys.

It's not known whether the Cowboys will grant Ratliff's release, but he's been a problem off the field for a couple of years now, and has internal issues with team management. Ratliff is 32 years old, and hasn't been healthy since the 2012 season. The Cowboys lost DeMarcus Ware to a right quadriceps injury against the Redskins. Ratliff could've helped their defensive line, but it appears his Dallas day.

C'mon. Give.

Ratliff was tailor made for this defense.

Agree completely. The offense is the key. If they can sustain drives, the defense will be that much better.

Catapano. Bailey. Tyson Jackson isn't going to be too expensive to re-sign.

Let's instead devote our attention or money to a free safety. We're one free safety away, I think, to being completely unstoppable on D.

We have dominated time of possession this year. 1 game we lost the ToP and one we broke even. That's through 6 games.

We have dominated time of possession this year. 1 game we lost the ToP and one we broke even. That's through 6 games.

But we can get better on D by a better offense more than inserting 1 or 2 more players. Longer ball control, scoring more TD's allows the defense more air to be fresher, go harder for short periods.

The Bad Guy

Allen Bailey is almost an identical build to Ratliff.

No thanks on Ratliff. Jackson might be affordable with a Mike Devito type deal.

We are really good at safety with Abdullah, Demps and Berry.

Lewis is worthless but I would def keep Demps and Abdullah around next year.

Get better at Safety. That is how you make this D dominating. Lewis is a ****ing liability. Non tackling ass mother****er.Should be able to improve without spending big resources.

2nd/3rd round pick should get us a decent FS that can:

1. fast enough to play centerfield and still help on the sideline routes.
2. good enough tackler to come up from centerfield and knock the shit out of these running QB's that keep running on us without getting hit.

also a decent Dime Cornerback cane be found in the middle rounds that has enough speed to not gimp around against anybody faster than a tightend.

If Tjax wants to say for relatively cheap, i'm good with that

sign to keep our own guys

Defense is looking strong for the near future

exact opposite of the offense

The best way to improve this D is to make the offense better so it can sustain longer drives on a more regular basis. Get a better receiving option (healthy TE and/or a better WR2) or improve the OLine's ability to run block.

Rain Man

Our only weakness on D right now is FS and dime back, and even our FS is not horrible. Robinson in the dime is my only worry since he seems to consistently take bad angles.

Right now I don't view Tyson Jackson as a weakness. Our DL has been playing very well.

Rasputin
10-13-2013, 09:07 PM
HELL no to Ratfink

Tyson Jackson may not be getting the glamour making big plays but he opens it up for Justin Houston and we have a solid defense with Tyson Jackson he holds containment.

Get Brandon Flowers healthy promote Demps and Cooper and let Kendrick Lewis walk.

Sanders Commings will be back in a few weeks as well. We are so deep.

We are deep, but unless Commings becomes a good starter, we have a lot of safeties who aren't liabilities. Would be nice to have a true top shelf free safety. Something we shouldn't spend on but can get in the draft.

I would rather pour resources into getting a top notch de that can rush the passer like a beast.

Of course I had someone in my sights a few months ago.

need depth at CB and DL. Could add a passrusher too.

Our absolute need is OL and WR though and shit maybe even TE.

you get them better this year, by getting Flowers healthy, and continuing to let Cooper grow.

You get them better next year, by spending an entire year under Sutton, and growing together.

I don't think you have to replace anyone on the defense really.

Adding Depth would be where I would start.

just as an example. The 49ers have lost Aldon Smith, for pretty much the year, Patrick willis missed the past two games, they start a rookie free safety, and are on their 3rd nickel back so far this season, yet they are as dominant as ever.

Gotta lock up Houston. DeVito is your guys Justin Smith, and Tyson Jackson, has played VERY well.

Id keep him. Trust is big on the d line.

If we are addressing depth, we need an additional pass-rusher first and foremost. Kendrick Lewis could absolutely be upgraded, as could our D-line depth.

But really, we need to address why the offense isn't working.

WR QB TE S DE in that order. No I don't believe in Alex Smith, I think Bray could do better. I think Smith will cost us a Playoff game if he plays like he did today.

Put a dreadlock wig and Dunta Robinsons jersey on Brandon Flowers when he returns. QB's will be super confident throwing in that area which will lead to picks. Other than that I have no idea lol, making this d any better would seem like we put a cheat code in

You honestly think Bray is ready to step in and lead this team? Do you think we'd be 6-0 with Bray right now?

If we had Johnny Manziel all our Offensive troubles would be solved. Then we should trade whatever it takes to get Clowney.

obviously not. Growing pains are going to happen. But, I think the upside come the playoffs would be much higher with Bray, than with Alex Smith.

Alex Smith is just not comfortable being the guy that leads the offense where he is the guy.
