View Full Version : Football What's the "Lock" for Week 7?

I'm undefeated in the suicide picks this year.

Looking at a choice of four teams I haven't picked yet. What game is the "lock?"

Bills at Dolphins? I like Miami at home.

Chargers at Jags? Jags are bad, but SD has a short week and is on the road.

Browns at Packers? Weeden sucks, but Green Bay is beat up on defense.

Texans at Chiefs? Haven't picked KC yet. Is this the week to pick them?

Your thoughts?

Packers. Rodgers> Browns defense that just got butt fucked by the Lions

It's pretty damn hard to beat the Packers at home.

I'm saving Green Bay for week 16, so it's San Diego for me this week

Jags are really bad but traveling cross country to eastern time zone on short week as road team? Little risky.

I wasn't impressed with San Diego at all last night.

At home and all they put up was 17 points? They drive up and down the field all game and couldn't put it in the end zone.

I think TJ Yates will be in for a long day. I would go with KC by 21.

I agree with everything you wrote, but inasmuch as I try to plan these all the way to the end, I feel better taking San Diego this week and Green Bay in 16 vs Pittsburgh rather than San Diego at home vs Oakland in 16. I don't like road games, but divisional games are worse.

Next week vs Cleveland is the week to take KC

Considering I would have all but guaranteed Houston over St. Louis last week....I'm just not gonna say anything.

Packers. The Chargers are never a lock.

I'm leaning towards picking the Pack. Buffalo-Miami in a division and big rivalry game, although Buffalo is down to their third string QB.

Honestly - you don't have enough Alex Smith threads on the first page?

Same answer it is every week, whoever plays the Jags. Though I didn't see the game last week it sounds like they played better, only lost by 16. That's pretty subjective. Henne threw for 300 yards but also had 2 picks against 0 TD.

We need him to matriculate down the field.

I think everyone has to be undefeated to still be in the game, correct???

I'm just a little hesitant re the Jags this week. The odds are very, very, very slim for an NFL team to go through a season without winning 1 game. As was stated above, with SD traveling all the way across 4 time zones, with a short week, and with SD's inconsistent nature, this may be the week for the Jags win???

I think I'm going with Miami this week.

Old Dog ... last couple years I tried your approach of mapping out picks ... and got bite early on ... like what happened to Houston last week. So, this year, I trying to pick more of a sure thing each week. But, I do realize in the NFL, there ain't not such thing as a sure thing. As I said above very rarely will a team go undefeated or without a win. So, I guess the goal (for me) is to be the last person standing.
