I gather that OP is indicating we've heard his name mentioned almost none. So we wasted money on that guy, or something along those lines.

That's how I'm decoding this OP.

Well yeah. Cooper is playing at a starter level so we don't need Dunta as much. I don't view that as a bad thing.

We did what we had to do signing Dunta. We didn't know we'd sign a UDFA that would turn out to be our best corner.

Well he sure as fuck wasn't signed to cover the slot guy.

When we had an injury at CB he was next man up. We were dumb enough to expect him to be a plug-n-play guy on the outside...

There are almost 7 billion people on the planet. 0% of them predicted Marcus Cooper would turn out to be as good as he is.

So I still don't see what's wrong with the signing. We signed him not knowing we'd later get a UDFA that would be a rookie of the year contender.

What? He barely plays now. How does he play slow? Which play are you talking about? You'd have to go back to the Giants game to find an example.

Been suspecting this also. Dunta's better at keeping his eyes on plays in front of him and breaking to them. He still might suck, but as a CB, he can not turn and run with WRs off the line.

Keep up.

He was cut (by the Falcons) because he lost a step and his game never recovered. He could hit, tackle, and knew his responsibilities but never truly adjusted to losing his legs.

THAT'S A FS IN THE MAKINGS.

We decided to put him in the next-man-up role at CB (on the outside.)

He ****ing sucked. HORRIBLY.

His days as a CB were done. Over. If we didn't want him as a FS there was no ****ing point in signing the guy...

wait you actually thought when they gave him 3 years 15 million it was to cover the SLOT?!?!? He can't cover anybody, anyone that follows NFL with a brain knew that last year.

WTF is that? No, we decided to make him a slot corner. It just so happened that Flowers was injured and he had to fill in. He went from having to cover Randle to covering Cruz. Of course he was going to struggle.

Btw, name one corner on the team that hasn't been horribly burned this season.

Before free agency even started we knew we were getting Sean Smith. It was one of the worst kept secrets of 2013. Literally http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000145739/article/vontae-davis-tweets-sean-smith-talking-to-kc-chiefs

You guys act like every slot WR is Welker or Cruz. For the most part they're McCluster or worse.

mcaj22
11-05-2013, 09:13 PM
players that line up in the slot arent just exclusive to midget WRs

you do understand that a lot of teams play big freakish athletic pass catching TEs (or a fast RB) in the slot too, that a slot CB, might have to cover.

A lot of teams? You mean like 5? And not that many teams put an RB in the slot either.

okay for comparison sake

hypothetically Dunta Robinson cannot cover

Broncos - Welker
Giants - Cruz
Chiefs - McCluster
Browns - Cameron/Bess
Saints - Graham/Sproles
Lions - Burelson/Bush
NE - Anyone of them
Green Bay - Randall Cobb
Colts - Wayne/Hilton
Titans - Kendall Wright
49ers - Boldin
Seahawks - Harvin
Ravens - Jacoby Jones/Ray Rice
Eagles - Shady McCoy/Maclin

he cant cover any of these guys and that's just half. Way more than "5"

Hey now, when CP decides a player is a totally worthless piece of trash, they'll defend that stance to the grave. You KNOW this by now. (Even though I think he's pretty shitty and it's not like he's gonna get better at this stage in his career..so I agree on this 'un)

You can add quite a few more as well, such as Jordy Nelson, Colston, Megatron, Bowe as players that get reps in the slot.

With Commings activated I think he will be just another coach on the sideline(which is pretty much his job already) We have been extremely fortunate ofcourse everyone and their mom knows what Cooper's done for us, but I feel the additions of Abdullah and Demps are never mentioned. Demps is solid in our sub package, and equally solid as a returner and Abdullah has allowed us to be more flexible with EB and B Flo than we ever have. Abdullah is a solid nickel and obviously the reason we are the team of destiny(obligatory Mecca mention) and both are key contributors on all 4 ST units...Thank you again Dorsey(**** you pioli)
