:toast:I remember as a young boy watching the scenes of Americans treating vets poorly as they returned from Vietnam. It made no sense to me. Blame the leaders in politics, not the John Doe soldier. They don't get to decide who to fight and when. Why blame them?

I've been doing vet and those currently serving "stuff" for 20+ years. Long before I ever worked beside them. I'm still sending care packages to the troops just not through the Planet. That seems to have run its course.

I'm sitting in my nice recliner, big screen, pool, boat, son in college, family safe because of these men and women who choose to sacrifice time with their family and risk their lives. We owe them more than we can every repay. At the very least we can let them know we recognize and appreciate their service.

HAHAHA! Ugh huh. God I would love to go back to Monterey.

When I went Bravo was for entry level students fresh out of basic. They had drill Sgts and everything. Then once you got to be Phase 5+ you got to move up to Foxtrot, Alpha, or Charlie.

Delta was the MP company and Echo was the reenlisted soldiers.

But right as I arrived at Fox the integrated the companies and made the reenlisted NCOs squad leaders for the soldiers in training. They moved PT to 5 days a week instead of 3 and we had to do military training every Friday after class. It really took the glamour out the place for them, unfortunately.

Good fellow and 70 in St. Louis?

Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX.

It was a joint services school with the AF as the executive agency. Had all five services there, so I was assigned to the Army Battalion, but worked in the 316th Training Squadron for the 17th Training Wing.

5 Army instructors, 1 AF instructor, and 1 Marine instructor in the course I taught.

It was a unique set up. Whenever the battalion commander didn't like something the AF wanted us to do, he'd point out we were part of the brigade at Ft. Huachuca and say the AF Col. could take it up with the Army 1-Star. If the Army wanted us to do stuff the BC didn't want to do, he's point at the Air Force and say, "Well, they're the executive agency." It really felt like a kid playing Mom and Dad off of each other.
