Okay dammit -which thread are we in? In either event, responding to your Josey question:

He's a 3rd round talent easily but I don't know that he's a good pick for the Chiefs.

In the end, yeah I'd probably take him at the end of the third because I think he's a great value pick there. But I don't expect him to fall that far.

ALL TIGERS DRAFT!!!

1st: Ealy
3rd: Josey
4th: Gaines
5th: Washington
6th: Lucas
7th: Britt

And that's a completely defensible draft.

Maybe, but he doesn't have the size/speed to play man and I'm not sure there's a place in the current NFL for a zone corner out wide.

He's a perfect Cover-2 guy, IMO. But now that the rules have made that kind of defense virtually obsolete, he's probably exclusively a nickle corner. Scott Pioli's not around to take the guy 2 rounds too early this season.

I don't expect him to fall to the end of the 4th, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a late 3rd, early 4th round guy.

Maybe some day somebody will be able to explain to me why Steck kept putting him in short zones and giving heavy coverage responsibilities to Matt White.

Almost certainly the best all-around CB in Mizzou history.

Losing Ponder will hurt as well. I'll tell you though, Penton looked awfully good in limited run. I liked Gibson's size/speed.

If we can get some improvement in our athleticism at LB and safety, it will do a lot to make up for the loss of Gaines. I love Wilson and his leadership, but he's just sooooo sloooooow and obviously White's shortcomings are well known. We play so much zone anyway that upgrades at LB/Safety will do a lot to keep our coverage sound.

No way they finish as low as #5. They were #8 and #7, #6, #5, and #3 all lose. I think if Auburn loses then the final 4 will be #1 FSU, #2 MSU, #3 Mizzou, and #4 Auburn.

He's a powerful athlete, but not a terribly explosive one.

Like I said, he'll have a chance to prove me wrong and do so emphatically in the combine. I certainly hope he does - I'd love to be see the guy kick some ass on Sundays.

Nobody's moving Mizzou ahead of Auburn after we got depantsed in the SEC championship game.

Moreover, I think it's very unlikely that Alabama gets moved behind us.

I think we end at 5.

I think Gaines is better than Wright. Wehrli was a guy I thought about but ultimately I just think Gaines was asked to do more against much tougher competition.

Though I certainly understand anyone that believes otherwise.

They're definitely throwing numbers at the problem with this recruiting class. Between Greg Taylor, Dennis, and Wingo, you hope you get, at worst, two starters in the secondary out of this class, and you might get more if they flip a guy like Zanders over to safety.

Lee will eventually help out the LB corps, but losing Sikes hurts.

The '15 class looks to be absolutely epic in terms of in-state +East St.L DL talent. It's going to be tough expecting Ray and Golden to do it all on their own.

I've heard good things about Charles Harris and Marcus Loud, though Harris is so raw, he might need one more year before he really makes an impact.

Hopefully, they get some addition by subtraction at S (Matt White is SO bad... never seen a guy whose best bet to tackle offensive players is to fall down after hitting them and having them trip over him) and the freshmen CBs (Penton and Gibson) continue to improve and keep them from falling off a cliff at CB.

Webb/Simon/Singleton should be Missouri's best safety pairing in some time.

Was pretty blatant defensive holding/PI on the overturned pick 6 that helped the DB get into position to pick it off.

As for the rest of the game... Okie Lite can't bitch about any of the overturned incomplete pass calls on the field. The line judge on that side of the field must have gotten loaded before the game or something, because the guy blew 3-4 very easy calls.
