With the talk of the Packers game being possibly -8 tomorrow, the NFL linked to their coldest ever. Checking in at #3 all time: KC vs Indy 1996 playoffs. We seriously owe these guys payback for all these defeats.

3. Jan. 7, 1996 - Arrowhead Stadium
AFC playoff: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Indianapolis Colts

Temperature: -6 degrees

Was there. 2 rows from the top of the stadium. Horrible weather and a horrible outcome.

I can think of only one time in my entire life of watching sports that I was legitimately ANGRY about an outcome. My sports teams have suffered plenty of losses and it's all good. Sometimes it's sad, shocking, or even laughable. But I'll never forget how unbelievably pissed off I was that entire game esp the last FG attempt.

That game broke me in a way that no other Chiefs game ever has, or likely will.

Yep that one is the worst by a mile. Next two were the G-Rob no punt game and the Grbac/Gannon vs Denver games.

Went into deep depression after this game, and it remains to this day. Winning cures all.

The phrase "kick in the balls" doesn't really do justice to that game. It was just horrible.

The December 25, 1971 game will always haunt me. I was 11 years old and it was the worst day of my childhood. I hated Jan Stenerud for many years.

Love how Neil Smith is being held in that still shot...wonder if his concussions had been kicking in by then?

Yepremian did his job that day. Can't fault a man for that.

Most painful loss in Chiefs history.

It was painful for me in more ways than I care to remember. I started cussing, throwing things and going beserk. I was only 11 years old. My parents tore my ass up for that. I still have bad memories of that day.

How come no one ever gets pissed about the dropped pass in the end zone? Woulda made the FG moot.

I see your point, but I had no trouble with it. He ruined a child's Christmas.

Who dropped it?

I never remember a lot of the details. I just remember the pain. And I want to inflict it back.

I got kicked out the house. It wasn't one of my finer moments...

There was no dropped pass in the EZ. Lake Dawson got his hands on a ball from Gannon that would have been a miracle catch in that game.

It wasn't a drop.

And yes, it was cold as fuck and I don't think I thawed out until 1997 just in time to have Broncos send me to the deep freeze.

I remember pregame Marcus Allen warming up on the field in short sleeves. I remember thinking what a bad ass, this dome team is doomed.........

Colts probably had a 10-20% chance of winning that game. Marty curse trumps all.
