The rules:

In Round 1, I'm going to put up three randomly selected scenes from the nomination thread.

You'll vote for your ONE favorite scene among the three. The key here is FAVORITE. We're not talking about the 'best' or 'most powerful' or 'most meaningful'. We're talking about the scene that you most enjoy watching, however you define that.

The winners will move on. I'll also take the 10 highest-scoring second-place scenes and they'll advance as wild cards.

Some of our nominations did not include clips. This will be noted. If you find a clip, please post it and let me know so I can update it if it moves on.

My votes:

#1 - Midnight Cowboy. Kind of fun, and I've read that this wasn't an intentional scene. The cab driver drove through the filming barricades and was just a typical New York cab driver. Dustin Hoffman was improvising.

#2 - American Psycho. I guess it was kind of interesting. Kind of. I guess it says something about corporate America. Kind of.

#3 - Mary Poppins. I ... I ... (zzzzzzz).

I'm not a big Dustin Hoffman fan but I did vote for Midnight Cowboy.

I say that too when I cross the street.

I've never actually seen the whole movie, but the iconic line from Midnight Cowboy takes it. Who doesn't say that line, when appropriate?
Also, just love the clips that are taped off TV with a video camera.

I voted American Psycho because that scene made me want to see the whole movie, even though I've seen Midnight Cowboy and have enjoyed it.

"I'm walking here!!" is used in every day life by every day people, so it probably OUGHT to win, but damn is American Psycho a terrific film. Most likely Christian Bale's best work. Close call.

Didn't think the vote would be so close, American Psycho has several scenes that oughta destroy in this contest.

I saw Midnight Cowboy for the first time recently. If I remember correctly it got an X rating mostly for drug use and some sex scenes. I thought it was pretty meh for the most part, but that is an iconic scene
