The rules:

In Round 1, I'm going to put up three randomly selected scenes from the nomination thread.

You'll vote for your ONE favorite scene among the three. The key here is FAVORITE. We're not talking about the 'best' or 'most powerful' or 'most meaningful'. We're talking about the scene that you most enjoy watching, however you define that.

The winners will move on. I'll also take the 10 highest-scoring second-place scenes and they'll advance as wild cards.

Some of our nominations did not include clips. This will be noted. If you find a clip, please post it and let me know so I can update it if it moves on.

My picks:

#1 - Golden Voyage of Sinbad. Okay, that was cool. You can't deny that that was cool.

#2 - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Classic scene and engaging. I had no idea that Jim Ignatowski was institutionalized, but that explains a lot.

#3 - Heat. Seemed kind of Al Meh-cino and Robert Meh-niro.

Heat. An absolute hands down classic scene.

Bit of a cheat though since it was done previously in the 80s with two different actors.

Did you notice that Kali had six arms? Six of them!

Sinbad. That Kali was amazing.

And in 1974. That was pretty darn good.

It was really hard for me to pick between Sinbad and Cuckoo's Nest. If it had been a scene from Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger I would agree with your ranking. As the poll stands I must go with One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. In a great movie, that scene is one of the most inspiring. It's way up there on my list of greatest scenes of all time.

The Heat clip didn't make me want to see that movie.

I like the other two but went with Sinbad for the six arm Kali

Cuckoo's Nest makes the cut, to the delight of the inmates.
