Looks like they are moving away from pewter and going toward silver/chrome. The team name is silver and definitely a brighter red. It isn't all about the actual logo. They are changing quite a bit about their image, from logo branding on down to the jersey colors, and endzone markings.

I like it more than their previous iteration.

You know, I could have thought this twenty years ago or so, but with all the radical new uniforms with shapes and slashes that look like gashes or something else, Chiefs uniforms have a solid classic look to them. Yea I agree with you. I really would not mind a complete and total overhaul of the image and team name in KC. I don't really love the Chiefs name. Don't find it offensive or anything just don't love it.

From what I've been told a big driver of this was to separate them from the other teams/franchises that have red & black as primary colors. They wanted to make pewter more noticeable and reduce the amount of black. It's all about differentiation.

What I can't understand is why the league put in New restrictions on alternate helmets, jerseys, etc before the past season or 2. Seems like Goddell would totally be on board as its another merchandise $$$ grab for sure.

I don't like it because our franchise is a perfect example of being locked in. Before they could try an 1-off New design. There's no way we'd do it now, since it means sticking with it for the entire 16.

Technically, you can wear throwbacks, but we don't really have any. Not that it's a loss, but not even the Texans are " throwbacks " - that was just for the AFL anniversary season. Just like the Titans and Ravens are wearing " throwbacks " and rocking out onto the field in Oilers or Browns unis.

Other than VERY little changes to trim, piping, and maybe font for letters and numbers- we have got squat in terms of a revamped look.

Can you believe Lamar wanted our original colors to be that Powder Blue that the Oilers had and Orange like Denver. Houston submitted their color scheme 1st to the league, and we switched to Red and Gold.

Ironically, we've yet to actually wear Gold, just Yellow for some bizarre reason.

Biggest shocker- Donkeys was one of the final 3 mascots Chief's was selected from.

It's like the slightly tweaked Powercat logo motif- which a number of teams used as a futuristic obscure logo refresh back in the 90's like Iowa and others. Just its a bit less abstract and a rehash of the above with a tiny refresh to make it a bit more animalistic in form and less transformers logoesque.

To me, I've always thought that change looked tired and dated and Denver's old uniforms were way better.

I just think it's ridiculous that they made the big transition from the gay pirate in 1997 and now they're already fucking around with another new set of uniforms. That's just stupid. The old ones weren't outdated in the slightest. In fact, they were still some of the sharpest and sleekest uniforms in the NFL without being "classic".

Teams that can't keep a lousy uniform design for more than 20 years generally are never respected as iconic franchises, even if they've been around the league for a long time. The Chargers are some of the worst assholes at doing this.

Pick a fucking uniform. Wear it. Own it. And shut the fuck up.

I'm annoyed that the British army quit doing the redcoat thing. It's no coincidence that they ruled the world when they wore the redcoat uniform. One road playoff loss against the Continental Army shouldn't have destroyed their brand.

Didn't mind the helmet change at all. Wasn't really all the much change in it except the logo is bigger giving it that "Nike Pro Combat" edge/look to it.

The uniforms however are fucking ugly and downright silly. They look arena-ish as hell. I think the orange creamsicle/white ones should be used a couple times a year as alternative uni's. But overall their uniforms didn't need color format changes. That was fine. They incorporate the new logo/font on their current (98-2013) uniforms and they could have called it a day, instead they plaster the uni's w/ these hideous alarm-clock style numbers. Looks fucking retarded.
