The rules:

In Round 1, I'm going to put up three randomly selected scenes from the nomination thread.

You'll vote for your ONE favorite scene among the three. The key here is FAVORITE. We're not talking about the 'best' or 'most powerful' or 'most meaningful'. We're talking about the scene that you most enjoy watching, however you define that.

The winners will move on. I'll also take the 10 highest-scoring second-place scenes and they'll advance as wild cards.

Some of our nominations did not include clips. This will be noted. If you find a clip, please post it and let me know so I can update it if it moves on.

This is an interesting heat. My votes:

#1 - The Outlaw Josey Wales. I'm not generally into Westerns, and before I watched the clip I did not expect to vote for this scene. But it's entertaining and engaging. And is that Sondra Locke? Oh my, Sondra Locke. I had a crush on her in my early teen years with those big dark eyes and incongruously blonde hair.

#2 - From Dusk To Dawn. Okay, this features a nearly naked Salma Hayek. I adore Salma Hayek. She's at or near the top of my List of Five. Salma Hayek is amazing and I would watch her nearly naked any day of the week. I fully expected to vote for this scene even though I don't want to let near-nudity unduly influence my decision. But the truth of the matter is that I find this scene kind of slow. So it's my #2 even though it has a nearly nude Salma Hayek in it, who I adore and think about often when I'm daydreaming about nearly nude women. I really want to stress here how much I like Salma Hayek.

#3 - Carrie. It's a well done scene, and hey, that was John Travolta. Not my gig, though.

Sucks that these 3 came up together. I would've voted for all 3 if I could've. That said, I chose Josey Wales. Like you, I chose substance over beauty. But I'm pretty sure this place will pick dusk to dawn based solely on Salma nearly nude.

I'm always loathe to put anything above Josey Wales... but I'll truly never forget how blown away I was the first time I watched Salma dancing on the table.

Her body was obscenely perfect, something out of a dream... she wins.
