Looks like initial placement is 77 KM WNW of Ferndale? Wonder about a tsunami threat.

Tsunami time?

Yeah who knows? I know I wouldn't go down for a romantic stroll on the beach tonight.

I'm not seeing much of anything on Twitter/news, not even on SF's news websites. Interesting.

Looks like there's no tsunami threat. 40 miles west of Eureka. Good thing.

I live about 5 miles outside eureka. My house shook like crazy for about 15-20 seconds.

It was a little worse than others but this happens every once in awhile. No biggie if you're used to them.

Wow you were named for this night/thread. Glad you're OK and that it doesn't look like anything is coming from it.

Thanks! I'm close to the beach and checked for tsunami warnings. These quakes happen atleast once a year.

People around here get used to them though. For instance when I was in college and we had an earthquake during class. As the building shook some students ran out while others sat still. Most of the people running out were out of state students. They walked back in class all stunned and class continued as if nothing had happened.

I'm watching the 4:30 CST news here in Iowa and it was like the 4th or 5th story in. Glad everyone dodge a bullet and is okay, except that there Oakland Stadium and crew and all
