Sweet! I wanted him back. He's a good special teamer and a solid back up. Most of all, he knows the system and is affordable. Hopefully more will be coming... I bet Jackson is going to be next.

Adjust your fantasy rosters accordingly.

Seriously, though, he'll probably be around next year's roster whether we like it or not as a special teamer and backup.

Holy fuck, I think I found my next Terrence Copper.

Eh, decent back-up and good special teamer. I would have liked to see his position upgraded but with our current cap space, that's kind of hard to do.

Yeah, because signing Zombo's going to kill all other moves and eat up all our cap space. Ease up, folks.

this is nice and all for special teams but it hurts us when our bumbling DC refuses to rotate/keep fresh our only two pass rushers who happen to play the same position, after they are run into the ground to the point they get hurt, then a guy like Zombo becomes a starter and shit rolls down hill.

Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports reports the Chiefs have re-signed outside linebacker Frank Zombo, per a source.

• What it means: Zombo is a valuable special teams player who got a chance to show what he could do in five starts on defense last season when starters Tamba Hali and Justin Houston battled injuries. Zombo finished with 27 tackles, two sacks and a Pro Football Focus grade of minus-0.3 in 426 snaps, which is average. By comparison, Hali and Houston posted grades of 22.7 and 31.8 in twice as many snaps.

Zombo fared well against the run, however. His grade in that category was 6.3, which was higher than Hali’s (4.2) and just shy of Houston’s (7.6) in half as many snaps. But Zombo’s pass-rush grade (minus-7.1) leaves plenty to be desired, which is why the Chiefs may still seek some pass-rush help at the position. Zombo had a cap number of $640,000 last season so if the report is indeed true, it would be a minor surprise if his new deal exceeds that by a significant amount.

Don't know why anyone's knocking on this move.

Costs nothing. Good on special teams. Provides badly needed OLB depth. Doesn't hurt our chances of upgrading at OLB or anywhere else. Good move to keep him.

I can not think of another single move the Chiefs could have made that would feel more like winning a dollar in the lotto.

This guy helped blow the san Diego and playoff game. How do you say resigning him helps the team win games?
