The rules:

In Round 1, I'm going to put up three randomly selected scenes from the nomination thread.

You'll vote for your ONE favorite scene among the three. The key here is FAVORITE. We're not talking about the 'best' or 'most powerful' or 'most meaningful'. We're talking about the scene that you most enjoy watching, however you define that.

The winners will move on. I'll also take the 10 highest-scoring second-place scenes and they'll advance as wild cards.

Some of our nominations did not include clips. This will be noted. If you find a clip, please post it and let me know so I can update it if it moves on.

My votes in a pretty solid heat:

#1 - Full Metal Jacket. I'm not sure that it really counts as a scene since it's a bit of a montage, but I'll still give it a vote. It draws a fellow in.

#2 - The Lonely Guy. I almost went with this, but I thought it presented solo dining in a false negative light.

#3 - Animal House. Fine song. Not sure it's a great scene.

Oh, and Frontier Airlines steals from the people.

I don't mean to go all patteeu here in dissescting word meanings, but "scene" typically means continuing action that takes place in a one location.

I'm voting for Full Metal Jacket anyway.

yeah, we might have to cut that Full Metal Jacket thing down. Does anyone want to suggest a particular element of it that is one scene? I would suggest the final scene with the shooting.
