View Full Version : Football Bridgewater Pro Day - Average At Best

Teddy Bridgewater, who did not throw at the NFL combine had his Pro Day yesterday.

Reports are he was "underwhelming" and "shaky" at best missing routine NFL type passes, fluttering balls and accuracy issues.

Could be that he felt the pressure of being under the microscope as a few head coaches and a plethora of media were there.

Or maybe he's just not that good.

You decide.

Yeah.

But that's not even a real game.

Wait till 70,000 fans are screaming at him.

Yep. The Texans were less than impressed and its not a smoke screen. The "average at best" description was kind. Word is he was not able to make all the throws and had poor technique, footwork and accuracy at a pro day tailored for him. I'm not surprised. He always seemed to be built up to me.

Forget Bridgewater, I want Jimmy Garoppolo to be the Raiders QB pick

For sure.

Texans need to draft Manziel but I don't think they have the balls.

Bridgewater = Geno Smith 2.0

To bank they do but I bet they go Clowney as he represents the "safest" bet. Manzeil has issues too though nerves are not one of them. Dude lives for pressure. The QB the Texans like the best is Bortles. They love his size, arm strength and upside. If they go Qb, I bet he's their guy.

I don't think Clowney is all that.

I say pick Manziel and let him do his thing.

He's a smart kid.

He will adjust his style to fit the NFL game.

Texans won't do it though.

Gutless.

Yeah, he's smart and has that "IT factor" but there's just something about him I dont trust. He showed a lot of immaturity getting to the top, along with a lot of talent, and he did improve from year 1 to year 2. I think one more year in college would have done him well. I know he's a winner and has guts, I just think they're gonna go splat when he tries to do "his thing" in the NFL. If I were going QB at 1.1, Id go Bortles instead but would not dog anyone out who would go with Manzeil.

The answer looks simple enough. Don't take Bridgewater at 1.1

Yes. Smith did pretty well at the combine and at his Pro Day. Physically, he's more talented than Bridgewater. Faster, stronger arm, and - it sounds like - more accurate.

So much for Bridgewater being a no-doubt No. 1 overall candidate (which was the thought on this board at this time last year).

EDIT:
And if he fell to No. 23, I'd still look at it long and hard if I'm KC. If you like him and he's there, take him.

I've always thought Bridgewater will be a disaster. He's gonna make Geno look like
Tom Brady.

I just can't see Manziel failing in the NFL. He has too much determination. He's not looking for a paycheck, he truly wants to be the best. Success or failure he's gonna be fun to watch. Just praying he goes to a decent team and not some scum like the Raiders or Browns, it wouldn't be fair to the amount of talent he has. I think he would take the Texans into the playoffs. Bridgewater would make them 4-12 .

If you think he's anything like Tebow you're a very confused person. Tebow had no idea how to throw a pass. Manziel can pass with the best of them. You ever watch his footwork ?? Peyton Manning calls him asking for advise !

It was to say that sometimes there isn't enough determination in the world to get somebody to make an NFL career.

Manziel isn't any more determined or competitive than half the other potential draftees out there. The same goes for Tebow.

I disagree. Didn't you see the pictures of Manziel training in the ocean. Tebow never trained in the ocean nor did anyone else to my knowledge. If you train in the ocean it means you're gonna be successful.
