The Kansas City Chiefs brought in former Detroit Lions kick returner Michael Spurlock for a visit, according to a league source.

Spurlock, 31, is an experienced return man.

He has previous stints with the Detroit Liojns, Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals.

He went undrafted out of Ole Miss in 2006.

For his career, Spurlock has 46 receptions for 494 yards and three touchdowns. He has 3,374 total return yards and five touchdown returns.

Last season, he played for the Lions and Cowboys.

In his first game with the Cowboys, Spurlock had a 62-yard punt return against the Washington Redskins.

He was cut in December by the Cowboys when they signed quarterback Jon Kitna and then res-igned by the Lions.

Camp fodder. Nothing McKnight or Davis doesn't bring to the table except he's older and can play receiver.

I'll admit I was an early McCluster fan (watched him in person return that punt for TD in a driving rain) and never really bashed him. Problem is I never saw a defender miss him very often.

But seriously will it be that hard to replace him as a slot receiver? Sanders would probably be an upgrade but we need to upgrade the WO's or offensice scheme before our slot guy will become some magic weapon.

They started lining Bowe up in the slot near the end of the season and production went up so I don't see that being a hole in the offense. We just need to draft a true #1.

He can block in there and run TE patterns against LBs and Safeties.

If defenses elect to send a CB in there then it's a benefit for running plays.

Holy crap, he's still playing football? I remember him being so bad at QB that Ole Miss fired David Cutcliffe. He was a Jefferson Pilot superstar back in the day.

Lots of Chiefs getting beat.

If its as a returner, then sweet. He has a really good burst when he hits the gas, and in Toub's unit, that's all you need.

He ended a curse for them. My son is a bucs fan and he hated hearing how they never returned one. He is kind of a hero. Maybe he's ready to take on a team curse.

Dex was a good returner but not until Toub came. He sucked as a WR.

He didnt suck as a WR. He had respectable receiving numbers under Reid. In fact he had his best season and it was only year 1. He is an ascending player. Last I checked, Toub is still in KC so I'd expect more good things in the return game as well with Dex. Bad thing is the way the contract was constructed by Tenn, it was not cost prohibitive. Id have paid it to keep Dex especially since we let every other FA starter walk.

Dex was fucking pathetic. No tackle breaking, no big playmaking, no first down getting midget

seriously what the hell are the Titans going to do with him, make him a 3rd down scat back? There's no way he's getting many snaps at WR on that team with the two young WRs they got. Their best WR works out of the slot anyway making Dex almost useless unless they sit in bunch formation all game.

They will probably use him as a RB since they are trying to trade Chris Johnson.
