Sorry if Q.

Just wanted to send a shout-out to Hy-Vee for their "Fuel Saver" deal/offering.

All things being equal, it's a great way to save some coin.

I thought some folks might want some good news in their life if they wanted to save some coin.

I agree. I drive a lot for work and that little card saves me a lot of money on fuel. Especially cause my truck has a 21 gallon tank.

There is a Casey's by my house that always has gas 10-15 cents cheaper than anyone else and they also accept the hyvee card.

I think my last tank of gas was around 2 dollars a gallon there.

Filling up our car costs between $50-$55 usually.

We've filled up the last 2 times for $17.

I have both...save a lot more via Hy-Vee. I'm averaging almost $1.00 off per gallon per fill up. I got the price down to $1.60/gallon a few weeks ago.

That's crazy.

I just fill my 19 gallon tank and it was almost $90.

Yeah. At first I thought it was kinda goofy, not anymore... And it's not like you have to buy stupid-expensive brands to have it add up...

My truck holds 25 gallons. My first 20 gallons tonight cost $55.58! The rest was at the regular price - 2 cents more per gallon than QT as I recall..

That's NOT chump change!

No shit. You buy Hy Vee brand, which is almost always cheaper than name brand, AND they give you fuel saver money...

It's a no-brainer.

My problem with that is that I have a 15 gallon tank. It's inequitable savings.

We do the Baker's (Kroger) deal, the wife and I go at the same time and fill her car and my truck since it has the bigger tank, plus I bring a 5 gal gas can to put in the Jeep as well, so we hit the 35 gal limit each time.

My car is 15 gallons. The wife's is 16.9...We go together, and I fill up one car, she holds the pump, and I pull the other car in and gas up to the 20 gallon limit.

I'm a manager at a Hy-Vee and we have our buffalo dip at 20 cents off per gallon. I can usually find chips with a fuel saver on it too. That's where most of my savings come from every month.

It is a great deal as long as you dont buy shit you were not going to anyway. I actually gave my extra cards to family and we alternate on who gets the savings. Generally getting 2 plus bucks off each time.

How do you stop cashiers from ringing up their card for people that do not use it?

People have been fired for it already. Probably not even an issue anymore like it was when it was new. Technology and cameras on the registers take care of that. They have people that monitor that stuff at corporate. I'm sure you could get away with it a time or two, but there's a real good chance you'll get caught.

Me too, I usually fill up about 8 or 9 gallons. So my .52 off per gallon only saved me like 4 bucks. Then I just went inside and bought lotto tickets :spock:

This... Growing up I managed a Safeway and a Winn Dixie, and neither came close to doing for their communities - Hy-Vee rocks that part of life!

And even with a 15 gallon tank, since the saving last 30 days, doesn't that work-out over time? I see folks with Electric cars getting butt-hurt over this, but nobody really cares what they think anyway...

My one "gripe" (and it's very small) would be that there's no easy way to get a second "full size" card. So I have to go inside to get the savings since my wife carries the "big" card. I hope they put a scanner at the pumps soon.... Those three minutes matter! LOL, I'm such a whiner!

You can get another full sized card from your store, and call the 1-800 number to link them together.

And it worked very well. Now I gotta ask, is it limited to two linked "cards", or could I get a third?

Not that it really matters, but they see what exactly you buy so they can market shit directly to you.

OK.... At a dollar off a gallon, let them "market to me"! I'd be more offended if it meant they were tying to sell me rotten meat...
