India PSA: Take Poo To the Loo!

Apparently in India, there's a big problem of people taking a dump in the street.

Yeah....

Great.

So, they made a PSA to try to get people to stop.

I traveled to India back in 1989, and we marveled at how commonly people urinated in the streets. I remember being on a plane once and as we taxied down the runway there was a guy standing on the edge of the runway taking a leak.

I came home with more than one bad bathroom story. You don't want me to tell them.

It was still a fun trip, though. I recommend India as a tourist destination, other than perhaps the gang rape thing. But I didn't have any problems with that when I was there.

Many people go to the bathroom to take a dump. They will take a bottle of water with them. You could use your imagination about the use of the water in there.

Why did they go out of their way to make their poo look like chocolate chips?

This is true in some parts of China, too. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that there wasn't running water or plumbing in many of these areas until recently, and toilet paper was never a staple item like it has been in the US for so long. People make doo with what they have, and as you know, it's difficult to make people change their ways.
