Rex actually earned his "Bug-Eater" moniker in St. Louis during a game when he picked up an enormous junebug off his hat and when dared to eat it by his Cardinal teammate, Tom Pagnozzi, got the players in the dugout involved and they paid him $800 to eat the junebug.

I really like HUD. He seems down to earth and realizes how awesome a job he has getting paid to watch baseball every day, just tries to have fun as long as he's doing it. He's goofy, but I've grown to appreciate it.

He said something to the effect of ... Jackie Robinson did a lot of great things for ... his kind. He took a long pause before saying his kind, was trying to find the right word and said the wrong one. Anyone who's ever listened to him before knew it was just him putting his foot in his mouth, he didn't mean anything by it. He apologized on radio the next day or maybe two days later. It was treated as it should have been, a total non issue

He detracts from the games. He talks incessantly and insecurely about himself and his close personal relationship with famous ball players. He talks over game play and over-explains the game in the process when most times letting the pictures tell the story would do.

I don't think a color analyst should talk more than the play-by play guy. He should offer occasional insight, anecdotes and, during garbage time, help the audience get through the game. I don't mind Hud, but there have been games where he WON'T SHUT UP.

He works well with Phys, but things get awkward with Lefebvre sometimes.

Agreed. I've learned to accept Hud because we're the Royals so why expect anything better, but I still get annoyed when he feels the need or can't control the urge to fill every second with words. It's like watching a game with your girlfriend. It's a baseball game, I can see what's happening, a little silence is ok.
