Thinking about buying a new Mazda 3 was wondering if anyone had one or anything about them. I've test drove one and like it a lot.

I'll be looking at the Speed3 for my next car. The whole Mazda 3 line with the redesign is getting rave reviews.

That's what I've been seeing, I could see keeping this car for ten or more years.

Why would you say that? It's clear that for those looking to keep cars for the long term that foreign auto makers produce more reliable cars than American auto makers. Now if you are looking for new cars and upgrades consistently, pick a car you like whether foreign/domestic.

You seem more like a Miata kind of guy.

I've had my current car for 13 years. I'll always plan on keeping cars I buy a minimum of 10 years. I wouldn't hesitate buying a Mazda as it fits this criteria and is a great value.

I'd get a Mazda 6 instead just bc it's a little bigger.

theyre nice cars though.

Buy an inferior product for the sake of being American? BTW, those "American" vehicles are probably more foreign than American.

I have a '12 Mazda 3 hatchback and love it. Get the 6 speed manual, it's a ton of fun to drive.

Nice cars. Don't know much other than having ridden in one, they seem like they are great for the price.

Which engine do you have?

I've been looking at the Speed3 but many have claimed that the 3 hatchback has plenty of zip without having to have a bigger engine and worse gas mileage with the Speed3.

How many American vehicles are actually assembled in the US and not in Mexico?

Build quality seems suspect with lots of rattles, probably the worst door closing noise I have heard in a newer car.

I have the Skyactiv 2.0 L. I average 31 MPG in town (mix of interstate and local roads) driving it pretty hard. It would be fun to have the Speed3, but I already have to dial back my driving with the 2.0 L engine to avoid speeding tickets.

Great to know. Thanks.

My 13 year old car runs great and still only has 90k on it. If any work on it comes up that's over 1k, that's when I'll pull the trigger. It does plenty fine but I'd love a new Mazda right now!

I think Ford owns Mazda

Ford used to have an 11 percent stake in Mazda and they shared a few platforms etc.

Now Ford has a 3.5% stake and the new Mazda 3 is a new chassis but they still share some parts with the MK3 Focus. Previous year Mazda 3 is a rebadged Focus, same with mazda 6 and Fusion.

Buy a Focus from me~

If I was in the market for a fun little hatchback I think I wouldnt be able to pass on the Fiat 500 Abarth. Although, they are fucking expensive.

I drove my F150 for 18 years prior to getting the 3.

I drove a Mazda3s for awhile and it was a great car.

Like my Acura TL more, but I would't mind driving it again.
