Why is this just happening now?

Can confirm reports that ex-#Chiefs and Bama LB Derrick Thomas will be announced as CFB Hall of Fame member on Thurs.

Seems like the NCAA single season sack record holder should already be there...

Hmmm, that's kind of weird that it's just happening now. When was he first eligible?

That would be Terrell Suggs.

* Derrick Thomas (Alabama) recorded 27 sacks in 1988, but the NCAA did not start collecting official defensive statistics until 2000.[58]

27 sacks?!!?

27 SACKS?!?! WTF? Was he lining up next to the quarterback some plays?

What is up with this? ASU says he set the record for 24 sacks in 2002.

But everyone knows that is well documented DT had 27 in '88.
They even state it in the article about his induction.

Some BS about it not being an official stat back then, but was tracked anyway.

Read the bottom quote in my posts. College football didn't collect defensive statistics for records until 2000.

I figured it was the same as the NFL thing that it didn't start till '82.
I was on the phone when I was posting and really wasn't paying attention to everything. :thumb:

Best pick of the draft.

Best pick of the draft.

Deion Sanders and Barry Sanders might have something to say about that. Probably not Barry because he's a really humble person, but Deion definitely would.

So out of the three-which would you rather have? DT changed the entire culture of the Chiefs-from losers to one of the most feared defenses of the time-empty stadium to a sea of red. His impact was far greater than the other two imo.

All three were amazing.

They played entirely different positions. No point in trying to argue who was "best".

Holy shit, I didn't know that. I'm stunned they weren't recording sacks in the late 80's in the NCAA.

Although my statement is still correct. :D He's just not the OFFICIAL single season sack record holder.
