ST. LOUIS (AP) — A man is dead after jumping from a St. Louis interstate highway overpass and landing on the windshield of a moving tractor-trailer.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that it happened about 8:30 a.m. Friday on southbound Interstate 55. Fire Capt. Garon Mosby says the 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at a hospital. His name has not been released.
The truck driver was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
The Missouri Department of Transportation says the overpass is near where interstates 55 and 44 split. Both highways were temporarily closed but soon reopened.

Wow-another one of those guys that think-"hey they did it in the movies-I can too" must not have read the disclaimer. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!

Can't wait until someone tries the Van Damm trick between two speeding trucks.

Sometimes you're the windshield, and sometimes you're the bug.

The victim was a former employee of IHOP, and appeared on the big screen in the movies "21 Jump Street" and "Hop".

I did some ****ING STUPID SHIT (Though my intent was never to kill myself) and still don't see how I survived my youth. For example, my friends and I would be on a two-lane HWY, on the way to the beach most of the time, and jump from one bed of a pickup truck to another going anywhere from 55-75 MPH. The landings were ALWAYS tricky! Must have done it 50 + times and NONE of us ever missed (at that speed) ****ing STUPID!!! :shake:

The trick was to make sure the truck you were jumping from was moving slightly faster than the one you were jumping to, cuz when you leap, you're the variable that's not moving in the same direction any longer...

The truck manufacturer should have designed softer glass.

All I know is that I am able to turn into a car, secretly part of the wizardry world and attend Hogwarts, and have a genetic mutation that gives me special powers based upon this logic.

This Rhodes Scholar will truly be missed for what could have been his contributions to custodial arts and janitorial engineering.

Yep, he wasn't trying to land on the truck, he wanted to get hit in midair. Sad.
