Close heat, in my opinion. My votes:

#1 - Inglorious Basterds. That German guy is pretty scary. (By the way, the original scene disappeared so I hope this is the same scene from Round 1.)

#2 - Full Metal Jacket. It's a fine scene. Doesn't amaze me or anything, but it's good.

#3 - Psycho. It's a good scene. It's my #3 because the moviemaking just wasn't as good back then. The initial stabbing looked like an automatron from Chuckie Cheese.

Inglorious Basterds. Christoph Waltz does one hell of a job, I hate the hell out of his character in that movie but loved his character in Django.

Holy cow, Rain Man.

It's an incredible scene of cinematography. The match cut between the water circling the drain and Janet Leigh's eyeball is TEXT BOOK.

Please, don't sleep on Alfred Hitchcock...

I went Psycho because of the impact that scene had on audiences at the time. It changed moviemaking for a whole generation. I'm probably older than most on CP though.

I do love the opening of Inglorious Basterds though.

And another thing--Janet Leigh was thought to be the star of the film by people entering the movie theatres. Nobody thought she'd die in the shower early in the film.

It was a huge, huge, huge surprise. Unthinkable at the time, almost.

...and the sound and music in the Psycho scene was awful as well.
Not memorable at all.

I don't follow the crowd. I develop my own opinions. And if you look at the murderer in the 1:42 to 1:49 mark, you can't possibly think it looks realistic. It looks like they attached a rotating arm to a mannequin. It's terrible.

I do like the drain to eye thing at the end, but it's not enough to save the scene in my opinion.

Voted Basterds, but wish there was more of the intro. The sickening sweetness of the Nazi as he enters the home and greets them all is so creepy that it sets up the really dramatic part of the scene. It's needed in order to give this scene it's fair run at the title.

I agree. The scene is really long, but it is absolutely tremendous in every way. I still remember the first time I saw this movie in the theater and was completely captivated by this scene. Absolutely outstanding performance by Christoph Waltz.

So, here's the 11-minute version:

The Basterds kill Janet Leigh and that female sniper, and move on to Round 3.

I'll expand the length of that clip, and thanks for the link.
