But, Walter Football . . .

Oh, and I was saying 'fingers crossed, potentially DT-esque' after he was drafted and about 20 minutes on youtube.

He just has that look that is forever burned in my fondest sports memories that's not KU BB.

Gotta temper expectations, but could be fun.

Maybe Gaz will return.

If he was DT, he would have put up alot more than just 20.5 sacks in 4.5 years of college. DT had 27 in his final season of college alone, that was as a Junior.

Yeah, I like the kid, but let's slow down.

He could have massive impact, but tying him to DT just sets him up for failure.

30 sacks in his first two seasons....

Remember when DJ was the next DT?

I'm being reserved. I've said so every time I discuss him. And it's really more about his look than his results. Beat them on the first step and just swim your way to the blind side of the QB.

I remember everyone comparing DJ as well. He was eating it up. I remember his 1st game @ home & he wore a gray undershirt like DT always used to. :doh!:

DJ was never gonna be the next DT. Two totally different positions.

Shit, wouldn't most defenders look like DT against our oline in non contact padless drills?

It's all fluff for now.

We will find out soon enough just how good he really is. I personally think he is going to be an excellent player.

How will the formation look with him and houston/hali on the field ?

It's beginning to look - because of some workouts in shorts and t-shirts - that Ford should have been a Top 10 pick?

LMAO

The good news is when he blows past Eric Fisher we'll know he's at least as good as Parys Haralson.

Impossible. Smith has 35 1/2" arms and plays with a lot more power than Ford does and he played a hell of a lot of snaps due to a lack of great talent ahead of him on the depth chart. Ford will be lucky to get 10 sacks as a rookie while sitting behind Hali and Houston. I think we'll be looking more at the 6-8 sack range at best which is fine from a rookie as long as he flashes dominance in his limited time.

Dude, you are obsessed with arm length. Others have pointed out countless examples of dominant players with arms shorter than dees. I do agree though dee wont have near as many sacks as aldon for the reasons you mentioned though. But it sure as hell wont be his shorter arms or lesser power.
