This is a good battle of somewhat eccentric scenes. A nice apples to apples comparison, ya know? My votes:

#1 - The Big Lebowski. I don't like the movie, but this scene is great. Great characters, great weirdness. And if you put Steve Buscemi in the background of any scene it's going to be good.

#2 - Caddyshack. Great monologue. You can't go wrong with this scene. Bill Murray is just outnumbered a bit by Goodman and Buscemi and that long-haired guy.

#3 - Fargo. Great movie, but this is about the 47th-best scene in it. I find this scene humdrum.

Great round, but even then Murray kills this.

Any man that refers to Jeff Bridges as "that long haired guy" should not be running a movie scene poll.

Other long haired guy. The one with the 8.

that long-haired guy.

His name is the Dude. That, or His Dudeness … Duder … or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Voted for the Dude.

The WTF would you even have it entered into the tourney? Put down 10 votes for me, one for each of the best 10 scenes from Fargo, all of which would anniahilate any scene from Caddyshack and The Big Lebowski.

I'm just the curator. Someone else nominated it.

I was asking my wife about the movie last night, and we both decided that the woodchipper scene was the best scene in the movie. But it didn't get nominated. I vaguely remember some scene with Buscemi driving with the murderer guy that I liked, too.

My wife remembered this scene, though, and thought it was worthy of the tournament.

Y'know a surprise movie that never got nominated in the tournament? E.T., the Extraterrestrial. I would've thought that an E.T. scene should have made it, but 500 scenes were nominated and it didn't hit the list. I wonder if that's our biggest oversight.

I really expected a dogfight between Caddyshack and Lebowski. Caddyshack is controlling the bout right now.

Caddyshack moves to Round 3. Big hitter, that Caddyshack.
