I could use a favor from some nice CP member who lives in the Atlanta area.
I bought a 1959 moped. (the year I was born) It's in Charlotte,Nc. I have a guy that will bring it to me in Missoula Mt if I can get it hitch hiked to atlanta and I had someone there to hold it for me until the driver of the car comes through atlanta, as Charlotte is too far out of his way. (Simpley Red comes to mind) If i'm not mistaken, that's where you are. If I can arrange that, I'll work on craigslist to get it from Charlotte to Atanta.
You know, it's hard enough to hitchhike on your own, It's much harder to hitchhike a moped.

Craigslist is a great idea to find someone to hitch hike your moped for you.

I would use a transport company rather than Craigslist to get it hauled. There are a lot of companies that specialize in hauling bikes and ATV's. Craigslist at best can be a roll of the dice. Now that you've found your machine, the last thing you need is some slippery Larry boosting your bike, running off with your cash or both.

Uship was a good concept, but now regular shipping companies use it and their prices are astrinomical. As far as a moped is concerned, they give you no break for size. They charge like it's a motorcycle. The cheapest bid I got before I got off that rippoff site was $800 . I paid $800 for the moped. I feel I got a good deal on the moped, but shipping companies are thieves. I need to solve this because I plan on selling some mopeds if I can solve this shipping dilema.

Craigslist rideshare is pretty handy. I have a Whizzer coming from Chicago right now.

I know like 10 guys from Atlanta. Unfortunately they all are working with me in Pryor Oklahoma. I'll ask if any of them are returning home for Labor Day. I think I work with two guys from SC too.
In my day we carried that home up hill, both ways or something like that.
