Inside in the documents, it states $30 to park, however you can get $27 parking if you pay ahead at the box office!

30 bucks for basic parking? Maybe there was an underlying theme when Belcher chose the parking lot.

...they presumably inflict more wear and tear on the parking lot.

Fantastic idea... I would love to see the results of flying a drone over a TFR zone.... Keep us posted with the results, video and anal probing....

And tickets start at $75, and probably average at least $150. But, you get to watch the game from a really big scoreboard, so that's cool.

Passed on Season tix this year. Spent 1/10 of the price and got Sunday Ticket. I'm happy with my decision.

you can easily get away with paying nothing for parking if you go to a surrounding restaurant at cowboys stadium, buy acouple margs, then walk 5 minutes to the spaceship....did it last season with some friends

I suppose we'll find out if people think it's a bad deal based on how full the lots are this year.

I'd guess that 1/3 of the alcohol consumed in the lots is from a glass bottle, regardless of their rules. In the last 5 years, I've seen one person questioned in person about glass bottles, and they told that person not to do it next time and didn't even take the bottles away. The rule isn't necessarily enforced that I've seen...

I'm not sure if they publish the information, but I'd bet we're in the bottom quarter - hell, maybe in the bottom 5 teams when it comes to parking costs. (assuming we're comparing apples to apples and talking about team owned lots)

Yet ya'll complain every time they raise the rate a few bucks.

Try being a Bears or Cowboys fan.

In Oakland it was $20 a few years back and it has raised by $5 increments every years since. Prob $40 this year but that's still cheap for Cali.

Cowboys stadium is tiered parking. Some of it is $75, but thats up close.

If you dont mind walking a little, you can get parking for $20- 30 bucks.

And what do you know - you can park right next to the stadium in KC for what it costs to park over at the Rangers Ballpark and walk over to Cowboys' Stadium.

My dad and step mom have been season ticket holders since they played at Fulton County Stadium in the mid 80's. They are my source.

IIRC - when I was in Chicago, the pass I saw had a $60 value.

And it wasn't all that close to the stadium.

I dont blame these teams for charging outrageous prices. They charge that because they know somebody will pay it. Supply and demand.

$27-30 gets you the right to park close to a stadium, the practical ability to consume as much alcohol as you may choose as well as the right to prepare and serve as much food as you want to yourself and to others.

Coming from a fraternity leadership position where my ass was on the line anytime a Bro Montana decided to try and push the limits of alcohol consumption, I do not know how the hell the Truman Sports Complex hasn't been sued out the ass for anything related to too much "tailgating" at Chiefs or Royals games.

In simplest terms, yes, it's absurd to have the "right" to park a car in a lot for 3-5 hours at the expense of $30+. But considering what you're allowed to do once inside complex it seems like something of a bargain...

$30 is getting butthurt? thats what 4 beers in stadium? If $30 gets people all upset they shouldn't go to the games.

Oh..Id bet those who bitch the most never go to a game anyway. Takes big money to have big NFL fun.

Was there not a wrongful death suit after last seasons mishap? I do not remember but that was fucking awful that someone died in the parking lot :sulk:

I will say that stuff like this is some of why attendance is down accross the league.

Prices keep going up, and the NFL is the perfect TV sport. Its more cost effective to stay home and watch Sunday Ticket.

However, there will always be a certain type of fan that values the "in person" game experience.

Except that attendance isn't down across the league.

2013 was the best attendance season since 2008.

One of the smallest markets, too, and of course Jerry isn't going to pay for that stadium.

Really though, I don't think it's any sadder that people who love to see NFL games live in Chicago or Dallas are getting raped harder than those in KC or elsewhere. And personally, it's not about $30 parking or $100 tickets, it's the fact that the loss of focus on the fans and the product and it now being all about raising profits x% from eleventy billion dollars has made going to a game worth less than half of what they're charging.

And believe it or not, the small increases here and there over a few or several years actually prices out a lot of people.

It's been between 17.1M and 17.3M since 2008. The "fall" isn't much of a fall at all. You're talking 200,000 people over 256 games.

781 people per game. And they all came back in 2013.

That's nothing.

There were several articles a year or two ago that mentioned a 4-5% decline. Yeah, if your numbers are right, 1-2% isn't much to worry about. If all the stuff that's come out about the steady decline and what not is correct, it's a pretty large chunk of change.... tens of millions in lost revenue from its peak.

5 years isn't nearly enough time to know the truth, so it doesn't really matter anyway... too many variables to say anything for sure, and the NFL wouldn't feel it anyway, especially when they can simply jack up prices some more.
