I had a brain MRI last year, and I kept falling asleep. The lady would come onto the microphone and say "HOLD STILL SIR!"

The only issue now is hopefully the tumor was benign. Pathology will follow up in about 10 days.

How are you doing?

Currently, I am hungry as hell and craving a Minsky's pepperoni pizza on thin crust with extra cheese! My first round of chemo went to me, and hopefully put some good thumps on the cancer. None of the nasty side effects got me. I did buy some extra bags for the sweeper just in case... but so far, I am still a furry bastard. It's even growing back where the one nurse-tech-whatever guy glued leads on my back without shaving me first and where they shaved my chest to put in the port (and does that ever itch!)

A few days ago, one of the lingering side effects went away, so now my mouth doesn't react as if I have something sour. All the foods I ate still tasted normal, but some things made my back salivary glands tweak, just like if I had eaten some extra sharp cheddar. Ooh, that sounds good, too! I can eat some cheddar since it is in the 'fridge. Minsky's will have to wait until Sunday. Still want that pizza NOW, though.

Hey, Ed. Nothing to update. Radiation begins on the 9th, chemo shortly after.

I have like 60 Hydrocodone, but I'm not trying to become an addict LOL

I'm glad to see you post about it. I have an anti-nausea med that I hope I never open the bottle and take even one of them. The other three I am praying will be more than sufficient. The scary one has 4 pages of stuff on it, mostly possible side effects and warnings like it WILL cause withdrawal symptoms and can kill elderly folks with dementia. I hope and pray you don't need many of your meds, either. You and I have enough to deal with here without needing a stint in rehab!

Hey, buddy! I pray your chemo goes as smoothly as mine, if not moreso. Pills are much better than what I am getting, 3 bags of different stuff every 2 weeks and then a pump to take home for 46 hours that sends .1 ml every couple of minutes into me. They gave me a haz mat suit in case it spills or leaks! Screw that, I am calling 911 and the EPA if that stuff ever leaks out! Still with the pump, I get to go home and not lay around the hospital for 2 days watching that stuff slowly drip drip drip into me.

Sorry to hear you've got to have another procedure, but this could just mean that there was a small amount that was not removed last time. A neurosurgeon explained to me once that to the naked eye, tumor and normal tissue can look very much alike. This is ending nowadays with the innovation of intraoperative MRI, which is really amazing.

Anyway, you are in good hands and keep battling :thumb:

It's similar in some ways... the cyberknife-type systems can move in space and use the imaging generated to deliver the radiation. It's superior to older systems (gamma knife, etc.) where it would need to be programmed or positioning needed to be completed very precisely.
