Still 4 back in the division. Now 2.5 back in the wild card... and no teams between us and Toronto.

Yeah but the Blue Jays have Valencia

J Guts though. I am still amazed he shut out the A's in 6. Unreal.

Vargus back for the 1st game could be tough!

Nice to see Hud call this bitch out. Fucking loser drama queen.

Ya know, not watching the A's much, but tonight they really do kinda seem like they whine and moan a lot as a team, and apparently they don't get run by the umps even so they just keep ratcheting it up whenever they don't like something or the call(s).

They hit like boss's though. That is a fact. I still think they lost a piece in Cespedes.

Go home ______________, you're drunk.

This should be CP's motto, and The Lounge's replacement name.

I meant him calling out Aoki as a really good actor when he flopped like a bitch and didn't even get hit.

If you called a Royals win tonight by the score of 1-0 before the game started, then you and I need to book a trip to Vegas.

Yep, and no one else at tTDL moved a bat that was above decent - especially of the elite WS contenders. Lineups and the order can be a fickle bitch to tempt fate by fucking with.

It's not like you just pulled a guy from the heart of the order.

My gf is a die hard A's fan. I told her if we made it to the seventh with the lead we were probably good. She hasn't texted me back. I watched her go into a fit of rage when USC lost to UCLA. Hopefully this weekend doesn't put a strain on our relationship.

Congrats. A's are missing Cespedes already.

Gonna have to score runs tomorrow. Even if Vargas is good, the A's are gonna score runs.

Just something I want to tell you but I've always thought you were a woman poster? I read your name as Suzzer, like a cool form of Susan.

Agreed. They did get Gomes, but he hits left handers at a hot rate. I wonder what happens when he faces alot of right handed aces/good pitchers.

I'll feel it until tomorrow. When we probably get shelled 8-2.

I witnessed him get hit by a pitch and swing.

Yeah I get that every now and then. It's the name of a pseudo-fraternity my friend's dad was in at Rockhurst College in Illinois in the 60s. We used it as our softball team name in college, and when the Internet came along I just picked it as a username.

Also George Wendt of Cheers fame was in the "suzzers" at the same time. According to my buddy's dad he's exactly like his character in real life.

If you're referring to '85,that was a ****ing roller coaster ride,I was fortunate enough to go each of the Angels 4 games series in that last week of the season when KC was a game out behind said Angels and won 3 of 4,that was the series that George Brett had an inside the park homer.

CA always blew it back then. Royals had to have supreme confidence going into that series.

I was at the game where we clinched that year. I will never forget Kool & The Gang - Celebrate blaring over the sound system.

If memory serves that was the 161st game against Oakland and Wilson got a walk-off hit in the 10th?

If memory serves I guess so. All I remember is the song.

But yeah I do seem to remember Wilson winning it now.

Edit: Yep, sounds about right. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/KCA/KCA198510050.shtml The 10th saw Jim Sundberg, Pat Sheridan, Greg Pryor, Lonnie Smith and Willie Wilson. Sigh. Nowadays we'd probably be bagging on all 5 of those due to crappy OPS+ and WAR. But back then, we were so innocent. But Greg Pryor still sucked.

I also remember being swept by Seattle in a 4 game series, at home, late in the season, and being sure our season was OVER.

I was at that game, my dad picked me up early from school to drive 3 hours to watch it.
