How often do I wash my sheets? Never. I don't do laundry. My wife does the laundry, and she does the sheets at least once per week.

Fascinating.

On a separate but related note, how many people hang dry their clothes, particularly outside when it's warmer?

At worst once every two weeks but I try to do them every Sunday morning.

I miss being a little kid and having fresh sheets hung out on a clothes line! I never see them any more.

Not if they're rubber and receive a regular coating of mazola

I think your wife changes them right after I leave. I hope so, they might get crusty after a few days.

Every day? Did she have a job? It takes 30 minutes to just to fold them afterwards.

We're fortunate to have a cleaning service and they come in three times a month, putting on new sheets each time. It's my job to wash and fold the dirty sheets, and I have no ability to fold those fitted sheets. I try, but they just look like I wadded them up.

Maybe if I lived outside the City Id hang dry. Just to muck gunk in the air out there.

I don't like crusty clothes, so no line dying.

Perfect large mountain retreat might convince me to line dry some linens but someone is going to have to stand out there and beat it with a dryer sheet.

Same here. My wife has shown me how to do it probably 30 times over the years.

I worry that it interferes with the migratory patterns of waterfowl. That, and I don't have a clothesline.

The wife and I decided to "fight the man" and put up retractable clotheslines about three years ago. If you just pop the clothes in the dryer with a dryer and run it for about five minutes with no heat, you'd never know that they were hung-dry.

Every Sunday. We do not hang our clothes on a a clothesline because we don't live on a farm. The spare bedrooms that only get used when we have company get the sheets washed the day before company arrives. I'm curious as to how many sets of sheets people own. My wife has bought 5 sets of sheets for our bed and she rotates them every week.

The only one I have trouble with is the mattress sheet. That bastard just gets wadded up. No matter how hard you try it folds all crinkled so why take the time.

We have four or five pairs total. However, one or two of those are flannel sheets for the winter, which incidentally are a very worthwhile expenditure.

So I think we have three summer sets and two winter sets.

Flannel sheets are awesome in the winter. We also have a couple of satin sets for the summer.

He's thinking about investing in Clorox. There's going to be a study released soon that links not washing sheets every 2-4 days with bad health. Yuppie women are going to be all over it and Clorox stock will go up.

On a related note, does anyone else love the smell of fresh sheets washed with bleach?

Obviously, you have to have plain white sheets, as far as I know (?), and run it on HOT with the detergent & bleach.

I literally just changed out and put fresh sheets and pillowcases on my bed no more than 10-15 minutes ago, and it's heavenly.
