Yeah I was just looking at their schedule the other day. They better start strong. The beginning of our schedule is hard, but nothing compared to what Denver has. They only play 1 team that didn't have a winning record last year.

Hammock Parties

Playing the Chiefs and Colts at home isn't hard for a team like Denver. They will probably win both games by double digits.

That could very easily be a 15-1 team with one loss to Seattle. They won't lose at home.

The beginning of their schedule is hard?

Unless Manning dies in the next month, I can't see them going worse than 4-2 in their first 6 games.

Sometimes I think this is a Dung-keys forum. Let's see, Colts, KC, Chargers, Pats, 9ers, AZ, and Rams all have a shot at beating them. To call them champs in TC is pretty stupid! They feasted in the same teams we did last year! The blueprint has been shown as to how to beat them. At least a few teams have the defense with ability to limit points in that group!

They open with a finesse team at home, which should be a win. After that, though, they get five physical teams in a row (with a bye week following the second one), followed by the Chargers. Then they have to play the back and forth game, going cross country to face the Patriots, then back to the W.C. to face the Raiders, and then to face that pass rush of the Rams.

They'll have to actually earn a fair amount of their wins this year. They have the 'emphasis' in their pocket to help out, though.

The Broncos actually have a good run defense.

I agree that they could have a tough time with San Fran and Seattle but you may as well give them a W against St Louis. Arizona could possibly sneak a W but I'd put their chances at about 20% maximum. Just not enough offense to keep up..

tk13
08-05-2014, 06:47 PM
On a serious note, I didn't realize they had a stretch of 6/8 on the road. That's pretty brutal. Five of those are the Patriots, Chiefs, Chargers, Bengals and Rams. Manning's usually good for 10-12 wins though, I'm sure this year will be no different. That Rams game is interesting because it's the 3rd straight road game, at 11am against a very physical defense, and Jeff Fisher obviously knows Manning about as well as anyone. Then later they get the Chargers/Bengals back to back. Whoever thought they were going 15-1 is flat trolling.

Denver will likely struggle...especially after the Seattle game. Especially with Peyton OUT for the season with a vagina injury--in all honesty.

I posted this on the OM, but since you guys want to talk Broncos, I'll copy it here as well:

In discussing and comparing pass rushers, a lot of discussion seems to focus on the rusher feasting on weak competition vs. being able to perform against any blocker they face. There are a lot of excuses as to why a pass rusher had a good game, from facing a rookie OT to playing against a bad team that had given up near the end of the season.

I wanted to look into this a little more, so I decided to look at the percentage of games (including playoffs) where a pass rusher got to the QB at least once. A high percentage should indicate that the rusher is capable of succeeding against more varied competition.

I compared the current batch of pass rushers in the NFL (Aldon, Allen, Mathis, Quinn, etc) as well as the big names from the past (White, Greene, LT, etc). I only looked at 1982 to present, because sacks were not kept track of before then.

There have been 3 players since 1982 that have recorded sacks in more than 60% of the games they've played:

-Von Miller 65.1%
-Mark Gastineau 61.1%
-DeMarcus Ware 60.7%

Some other notable names:

Reggie White 56.4%
Jared Allen 55.6%
Aldon Smith 54.9%
Bruce Smith 53.8%
Derrick Thomas 49.7%
Michael Strahan 48.7%
Elvis Dumervil 48.6%

Justin Houston 36.4% LMAO

It's not sacks per game, and no, I didn't count games each player didn't play in.

It's consistency. Percent of games played where they got to the QB at least once. It's a way to measure whether the pass rusher is able to perform against all competition, or if they got 5.5 sacks in one game against J'Marcus Webb and Gabe Carimi, both of whom were immediately discarded by the Bears at the end of the season.

Including playoffs, Aldon has recorded a sack in 28 out of the 51 games he's played, so he's at 54.9% (which is fantastic, right between Jared Allen and Bruce Smith).

Sounds about right. I figured before the season even starts these teams will be the final 4:
Saints, 49ers
Broncos, Colts

How are the Colts going to beat the Patriots?

Guess we'll find out Nov 16. But don't forget they beat Denver, San Fran, and Seattle last year! The Patriots really haven't shown me they're anything better than the 3rd or 4th best team in the AFC. Pats are beatable!

LMAO

The Patriots have made the AFCCG for 3 consecutive years. Last year, they did it by beating the shit out of the Colts even while missing a boatload of players because of injury.

Saw them at the store next to the 2104 edition chiefs rose colored glasses with rainbows and unicorns sparkles.

Every team in the nfc west is exactly what denver can't handle. Super physical elite running games. The Broncos will be lucky to win one of this.

How many do the Chiefs win?

Surely by that time the Chiefs will have drafted a franchise quarterback.

I'd say 2-2

Can't tell if the OP is serious or not. NFC West is by far best division in NFL. I don't see anyone in our division winning more than 2 against that division.

I say the chiefs can win two because they as a team don't turn the ball over. I fully believe the chiefs can beat the cards and Seahawks. Possibly the rams.
