The game uses numbers, yes, but it's really not much of a math game. As long as you know can generally remember the sequence of the numbers, that's all that you really need.

I have such an aversion to numbers due to what happened in math classes, that I can't even do that. Numbers traumatize me.

That was my first trip to 4096. I think I had 2048 in the corner for a grand total of about 2 moves. If I could get 4096 in the corner, it seems that getting 4096+2048 would be possible.

Yeah, my strategy is to always keep the biggest one in the corner and build toward it. But as soon as you are forced to move it out of the corner for one move, you run the risk of it throwing a damn 2 in there. Once that happens, it's REALLY hard to get back out of it.

Yep. It's just a matter of time, too. I always try to keep one step ahead but something always happens where I have to move down and sure enough, 2 in the corner. Obviously that was my downfall in my highscore game.

Some people are actually doing it with a computer program to PLAY the game. That makes it much more difficult to really figure out what a reasonable high score might be.

I don't personally know anyone who has ever gotten to 8192, but I've been close enough to think I could get there at some point. No way in hell could I ever get to 16384, though. That's just insanity.

Though it's a funny twist on the game, there's no strategy in it. You can get by with almost entirely alternating between two directions (toward a corner) over and over and over and over again.

I'm not sure it is possible for me to do it. I was positive that I would eventually get the 8192 tile because I had come painfully close on multiple occasions.
