I wonder what Colin Kelly's gonna do with his 3 hundy.

I do wonder on some of the figures there...

The Chiefs traded Baldwin away. So I'm thinking the 49ers take that dead money.

I think it's fucking crazy Jalil Brown, who did nothing more than be drafted in the 4th round and routinely blow terribly hard at his job, is going to make over $100,000 this year.

It's really ridiculous what a scrub like Devon Wylie can make just floating around the NFL for a few years.

There were several people here who thought he was a viable starting NFL CB. o:-)

David van Dyke made more money getting fired than I made in an entire year of sports writing.

I was actually talking about that recently.

Kendrick Lewis is likely going to be a starter in Houston, and once they cut him, because he's terrible, he will be given a starter gig somewhere else in the country for a bad team that's starving at the safety position.

So on and so forth. There's a great fortune to be made by being marginally good enough to start on a series of terrible NFL teams.

How many games did we start Piscatelli at safety? Five?

Buy Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

I guess that'll make it stretch.

"Yeah girl, check out my cinnamon toast crunch stash...yeah I love being in the NFL so I can just ball the fuck out on cold cereal."

Buy Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Nutritionally one of the worst cereals you could eat according to "Eat This, Not That".

The same can be said about coaches with the Houston Texans yet again as the perfect example.

Teams, coaches and players and their familiarity with systems and pro football in general are able to continue employment based on simply being in a previous system/on a previous team.

Crennel gets hired because of his resume/history with Superbowl level defenses, not because of his longer history of fielding downright horrible defenses.

You see it in everyday life all the time. In fact, I have to deal with it on a daily basis. Some dude gets hired because he worked for so and so in a certain job so it's immediately, but incorrectly assumed that this guy is going to be balls in a similar position with a new company. They don't take anything other than their assumptive perceptions based on previous said experience into account when hiring this guy, even though the guy might be a complete and utter tool that can't do his job for shit.

Assumptions versus reality.

That's his prorated signing bonus I imagine.

Isn't Frankie Hammond Jr still on the team? How does that qualify as dead money?

What's pretty awesome and crazy is that Scott Pioli and Romeo took Asamoah, Jackson, and Kendrick Lewis off our hands. Those 3 guys will probably start. We basically saved ourselves $12M and gave ourselves a boost in the compensation pick game. All for 3 guys who we didn't want to keep anyway.

This thread is like a tradition now - I seem to recall the Dead Money 2013 version.

It's like a sequel.

Shit is tight!

Replay value.
