If the Niners had Luck, they might have two.

Luck has a 20+ ranked defense and a RB that averages 3 yards/carry. Wilson and Kap have Gore/Lynch and two of the best defenses of the last 15-20 years of football. It's not even a legit debate. The problem is ChiefsPlanet does not consider football a team sport, and believes that teams are only as good as their QB.
Lmao

Luck has plenty of talent around him this is ridiculous.

I bet Wilson and Kaepernick would have been every bit as talented and successful as Luck has been in Indy.

Football is a team sport, lol, you hypocrite. You go on to give everyone in San Fran the credit EXCEPT Kaepernick....But then go on to say Luck is a 1 man team on Indianapolis...

You know, the same team Manning perennially made a Super Bowl contender and was only bad after they purposely tanked a season when they didn't prepare for him to sit out.

So your whole premise is hypocritical and ridiculous.

Manning runs his offense so that it forces the defense to have their backs to him.

Seattle ran a lot of zone, which allows them to face the QB. Crennel ran zone and owned Manning with it.

He's awesome.

I'd say his arm accuracy is about the best in the league. He only lacks mobility, and with his O-line, and WRs, and ability to have open targets in under 2 seconds, there's no way to stop it. Plus, he can read a defense better than the defense can call their own plays. That's why I hope a plane lands on him.

Where did I not give Kaepernick credit? I think he's the most physically talented QB of any of this group, including Cam Newton. He's been a huge part of the 49ers success.

You can't honestly sit here and tell me with a straight face that the Colts defense is on the level of Seattle or San Francisco's defense. It's not even in the same area code. The talent on the field, stats and eventual results don't support that idea at all. The Colts' D gave up over 40 points in both playoff games last year. The Seahawks defense gave up 40 points combined in three playoff games.

Are there any QBs you think are good not named Smith?

ROFL I talk a lot of crap about guys like Romo, Stafford, etc, but this is my honest view of the QB landscape in this league.

Only elite QBs in the league right now: Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Drew Brees.

Then you have Superbowl winning QBs who are still really good but not quite elite, Big Ben and Russell Wilson, as well as a guy like Philip Rivers who played at an elite level last year but needs to do it again to really move up into the first group.

Those are really the only guys that anyone could honestly say are a cut above the rest.

Then you have a large group of QBs who are all honestly good enough to win a championship with but have too many flaws to be considered Elite (a term that gets thrown around way too loosely). These are all good QBs but everyone is going to rank them differently (from Matt Ryan, Newton, Luck, Smith, Romo, Kaepernick, etc). People will nitpick about every QB in this group, depending on who they like more, but they each have their different strengths and flaws. It's kind of a "pick your flavor" group when it comes to ranking them.

Then you have Eli Manning who looks like he is done being a good QB in this league now but is still starting in NY.

After that group you have the developing/can't really judge yet guys (Geno Smith, EJ Manuel, rookie Derek Carr, Tannehill).

Then the final group is the placeholder QBs who aren't really starting quality and will be replaced soon. (McCown, Hoyer, Cassel, and Henne)

That's my unbiased/not-purposely crapping on other QBs view.

Sometimes players will negotiate a more reasonable salary if thye think they can win a SB. In our case the players just want to milk the team/system for all they can while they're here.

One of the reasons Manning never answered the Chief's calls when he left Indy, he was nice, but he knew the Hunts and knew he'd be strapped with shit to work with and zero commitment from ownership to win anything.

IOW, some players don't just want to win, they'll do almost anything to win. We have too few player like that, and once we have one, they leave for better franchises.

No one outside Kansas City could fail to notice that Demayrius Thomas (not to mention Wes Welker) is substantially better than anyone the Chiefs have. If you have eyes and anything but hate in your heart you can see that this is a rare talent.

Rare talent? No. Very good WR? Sure.

Thomas was very average before brokeneck arrived.

if Peyton Manning were on the Chiefs he'd make Dwayne Bowe look like Demaryius fucking Thomas and Donnie Avery look, at least, passable...

Great QB's always make their weapons look better...

Do you guys honestly think that Peyton Manning has just been the luckiest guy ever and that he just has hall of fame caliber receivers everywhere he goes?

Or, more realistically, does a QB who makes every correct read and puts the ball in the right spot almost every single time make these guys look a little better than they would be with say...Alex Smith?

I'm sorry, I'll keep using my Eddie Kennison theory here.

Eddie and Marvin were drafted 1 spot apart in the 1st round years ago...

Flip flop them, put Eddie with Peyton...and would Eddie have been a hall of famer?

I think so. Without a doubt.

Manning is going to throw 60 TD's this year. Maybe more.

If the officials keep extending the Donk drives, totally doable

as for the Chiefs and my level of excitement/depression with them...

I don't care anymore. I'll still watch every game because I've always done it since I was 5 years old. But for 2014, the only teams I care about are my fantasy teams and my daily fantasy teams. Because the Chiefs suck...so I am not going to spend 5 minutes this year being mad about it.

Pretty pissed off I already have Seattle/KC tickets...because I'd love to not go to that game and watch us lose by 40.

yeah, thats the big thing. alot of us know its not going to get better anytime soon. I remember as a teenager in the 90's i always told myself. This team is too good, we will win a superbowl one of these years in the near future. Shit never came its 2014 im getting old and nothing. lol

You guys were so close so many years but you were missing the one thing that's the elephant on this board, a QB.I try to stay out of all Chiefs topics but I have to finally add my two cents and say that the posters begging for a QB are right. The franchise will never change if they stay the retread route.

That's a big part of my premise, no doubt.

Which is why I didn't take RB's in fantasy this year. Not at all. Passing numbers are going to be up even higher than they have been this year. There is really no reason why teams with good QBs should run the ball very much anymore. Illegal contact/defensive holding/etc make running plays wasted downs.
