The reason we are treading water since the end of the Vermeil era is that guys are constantly getting too old or too expensive for us to improve the roster. We are always filling one recently created roster hole or another without ever getting better. The whole roster is out of sync for a serious championship run and has been for almost a decade.

We are always filling one recently created roster hole or another without ever getting better. The whole roster is out of sync for a serious championship run and has been for almost a decade.

It's largely because our drafting hasn't been strong, and too many of our free agent acquisitions haven't panned out.

I completely agree. I have to admit that I initially hated the Poe pick and thought he would not amount to much. I was wrong on that and glad to be wrong as he has become a stud on the line.
