Facebook friend, known the guy since I was 15. He was always a scammer even as a teenager but I never thought he'd stoop this low, especially in his late 30's. He started making these posts a couple weeks ago saying his son has autism and is trying to get donations through gofundme.com.

After no hits he's continuously tried to make people feel bad by posting his fund raising link with comments like "Really??? no one? wow", and "Just an update still a big fat 0000 in help yeah".

Finally his own teenage daughter called him out on it and told everyone it was a lie, but I guess he doesn't look at his own wall or check notifications because he never replied and keeps posting the gofundme links. I dont know how much you guys can see without being his friend on there but its horrible.

Wonder if there could be any legal ramifications to this?

This man's greater crime is taking selfies while driving every other day.

Trying to think - is there a good counter-scam for this? Nothing that would land anybody in jail, but maybe something that tricks him into acting a fool. (More so than usual.)

He said facebook friend, and everyone knows you can't control who you're facebook friends with... jeez.

I almost deleted him but I want to see the eventual fallout from this.

In all fairness, with mugging old ladies and stealing candy from babies, he probably doesn't have time to read the comments.

Dude, I would never. I just saw others razzing you for it, so I joined in. I don't care if you think I'm someone else so long as it's not one who would actually stoop that low.

Did just that. If he replies, I'll let CP decide my replies back to him.

I have helped countless homeless people-and I am glad I did it. After it is the same ones after so many years-I cut them off-sorry I am not your free ride. Giving a help hand upwards is far different than helping them stay in a position where they have no opportunities to have a normal life.
