I would say about 4-5. Crow would have been DFA'ed three months before he was and Salvy would have had 4-5 days off each month so he wasn't so damn sloppy and lethargic at the plate down the stretch. Infante would have sat when he was playing injured. I also would have let middle relievers throw more than one inning when it is obvious they have their stuff.

People will argue the whole "but, he got us to the playoffs." However, anyone with a lick of coaching experience can see he is one of the worst in-game managers in baseball (better than Ron Washington), which really says something since he is in the American League.

None. I'm far too emotional of a fan to be a Manager. I would have fucked it up for sure. I enjoy my unpaid position of Armchair Manager, and Chief Second Guessor. :)

Obviously the point here is that the Royals should have won the Central outright. There are probably a good 5-7 games Yost cost us with questionable managerial moves.

I'm pretty sure I would have been fired mid-season for refusing to continue to pencil in the ghost of Mike Moustakas career into the lineup

Yost may have cost us 8-10 games, won us 4-6 games.

If Hos, Moose and Billy had hit for avg and/or power, we would have destroyed the AL Central.

Sometimes it doesn't matter who the head coach is, some teams are just better at scoring points than others.

Ned also had the best kicker in the AL in Holland...

It was all about starting hot. Whenever we had the lead at halftime we would win the majority of our games!

He sure had a lot of trouble with the clock this year. He called a lot of useless timeouts.

That missed sack on Crowe was a division killer.

I would definitely have sacked the offensive coordinator for continuing to play Moustakous.

I don't know how the math works out as far as games ahead, but I would probably go 162-0 as manager.

Yeah. And I'm starting to question the half time adjustments he makes.

I'm not sure about wins, but our shots on goal would be a lot higher.

I'm not defending Ned exactly--there were lots of decisions that I thought were stupid.
But he did get the team to the playoffs despite not having a single offensive threat.

There's 3 guys with more than 10 HRs (not including Wilingham, who just got here), with Gordon's 19 the leader. Leading batting average is Cain with .301. There's really not a single legit offensive all-star on this team.

This team makes the 1985 team look like the 1927 Yankees. Gordon, who I guess is our best hitter, put up numbers similar to Frank White.

EDIT: After reading through the thread I see we were just supposed to make jokes about the head coach reference. Sorry.

Shit. Players wouldn't respect or listen to anyone anywhere close to Yost. Yost was in the bigs and was in the Braves for ever. He also takes so much pressure of the players to play. If the regular joe managed the Royals they would be laughed out of the locker room.
