Anyone watching this on FS1? What a great game! Giants trying to match the Royal Flush.

3rd longest playoff game ever now (in terms of innings), I believe.

Sandoval almost won it in the 9th but Posey got tagged out at the plate by an inch. No more than an inch.

Great game and I am on pins and needles for my Giants!

Somebody has to blink first.

All this is because of the stupid ass decision to pull Zimmerman in the 9th with 2 outs after a walk even though he had retired 20 straight batters before that. So this is hilarious to me.

I was rooting for the Giants to hit one out because of that ridiculous decision. Almost.

What happens if a team runs out of pitchers

A bench player has to pitch. If there are no more bench players (more likely than running out of pitchers, especially in the NL), the last pitcher has to keep playing to the end.

I remember my dad (a Cards fan) being on a business trip,to NY that night. He watched the beginning of the game,on his hotel room TV, went out to dinner, came back to the hotel late that night, flipped on the TV and the game was still on. He stayed up and watched it.

Especially when he got squeezed on that walk to begin with.

On a side note I think Matt Vangersian is an underrated play-by-play guy. His call on the game tying play was great.

While its a big blow for the Giants, it's not nearly as much of a blow as it is for Washington. Washington would be down 0-2 and they've been burning a new pitcher every inning. The Giants have had Petit pitch the last 6 innings. Washington is even using a starting pitcher right now.

Who doesn't like a good Belt fed weapon?

I hate losing these long games.

Giants lost a game in the 19th inning one time. I listed to the game all the way home in the car on the drive from San Francisco, then getting ready for bed, then listened to the radio in bed. And they lost it in the 19th. By then, it felt like I was on the team. It was devastating. To win one of these isn't euphoric, it is just a feeling of relief and glad its over, but to lose one is just soul crushing.

I don't think that's a surprise. They have a pretty solid group on paper. They have power at pretty much every position but CF, many teams can't say that these days... and five starters who are all very good. Their 5th best starter this year was Gio Gonzalez, who is an All-Star caliber guy. If you have five starters like that with a couple decent relievers, you're going to win a lot of games.
