He might have come to the realization that he's not that special, the NFL is tough and turning over the ball is the quickest way to be pushed out of the league. He might be servicable if he can take care of the ball.

Anyone who watches football, other than Chiefs football, and watches Tom Brady sees that he's still the same fucking guy as he was 10 years ago. Same. Fucking. Player.

Anyone who thinks Brady is "washed up" or "past his prime" is a fucking moron, and is also incorrect.

He's lost nothing ability wise. He has an inferior team around him with a much, much, much more inferior line.

But he's still a top 5 NFL QB. And it's not close.

This website is so dumb when it comes to watching QB play.

Hootie

some QBs never lose their prime

Brett Favre comes to mind. Shit, his last playoff run he was better than he was any other year sans some of those MVP years...but even then, it was close.

Still had the same arm. Still was great. And he was like 42.

Tom Brady today is every bit as good as Tom Brady in 2004.

It's such bad coaching.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the ball live when a field goal attempt is blocked? The ball just laid on the field for anyone to take. No one covered the ball. Everyone assumed the play was done.

I believe, if it crosses the line of scrimmage the offense can only recover it if a member of the defense touches it.

Once the ball goes past the line of scrimmage, then it's basically treated like a punt. That's why the Patriots were all jumping out of the way because it's a live ball if they touched it.

NFL says it's standard operating procedure. Partly player safety, and partly a minor adjustment thing -- similar to pointing out to a WR where teh LOS is.

If it had been Alex Smith in this game, we would have seen a Gif of him overthrowing an open receiver on the 2-point conversion that more or less lost the game.

Speaking of that two point conversion, how the heck do the Jets go empty backfield there? They've been ramming it down the Pats throats all night, and then go like they have Manning at QB? Why the heck would you do that?

A fade? A FADE? Seemed like a terrible move on their part there (not that I'm complaining).

To answer a question posed on NFL Reddit last night, no, no team has ever run for 200 yards, held the ball for 40 or more minutes, and committed zero turnovers and lost a game. The Jets are the first.

He wasn't horrible.

They were running the ball down Nee England's throats and forced several key 3 and outs early in the 4th when the score was 20-19 that the Jets offense squandered. For that, I blame Geno. He just didn't get the job done.
