Ok.

Bumgarner is incredible. We can CERTAINLY hit Tim Hudson. He's the type of pitcher we excel at. If Bochy pitches Vogelsong over Petit against us he's a god damn moron. Petit is the exact pitcher we CAN'T hit. He has nasty, nasty stuff. Vogelsong is another guy that doesn't intimidate me at all. We struggle with guys who throw hard. Jake Peavy has been better in the NL but, again, we can hit him.

Overall, I'd say starters are a wash but they certainly have a legit Ace that we're going to have trouble scoring any runs off of (Bumgarner).

Their lineup is less daunting than Baltimore, no doubt. Posey, again, was red hot down the stretch and when he's red hot he's pretty tough to get out. They have some speed. Blanco is a fast little bear. I don't think they are going to try running on Sal, though.

Bullpen...they have some good guys but I definitely wouldn't call them elite.

Sandoval is good, but again...he might get to our starters but NO ONE on that team is going to touch our bullpen, either.

Overall...this team isn't as good as Baltimore. They have one advantage over us and that is Bumgarner and I'm sure he'll pitch at least 2 games this series. Maybe 3 if they need him in game 7.

I think we match up really, really, really well to NL teams.

The Giants remind me of the Royals. On paper, they're very similar teams. They don't have a ton of power, they don't take many walks but their team batting average is pretty good, they play good defense, and their pitching is good.

Look how similar their team statistics are from the regular season:
Batting Average: KC .263/SF .255
OBP: KC .314/SF .311
SLG: KC .376/SF .388
OPS: KC .690/SF .699
Runs: KC 651/SF 665
ERA: KC 3.51/SF 3.50
Wins: KC 89/SF 88

The only statistical areas where I could find significant discrepancies were home runs (SF 132 - 17th in MLB/KC 95 - last in MLB) and stolen bases (KC 153 - 1st in MLB/SF 56 - 29th in MLB). So, the Giants are a slightly more powerful team, and the Royals are a much faster team.

The Giants bullpen is good, but the Royals bullpen is much better, in my opinion. Same with the starting rotation. Outside of Bumgarner, the Royals rotation is much more impressive.

Nice breakdown, I would add that a 3.50 ERA in the American League with the DH position is probably .15-.25 better than the same ERA in the National League, just an estimate based on my years of playing Fantasy Baseball and watching pitchers change leagues and parks.
