In all honesty, losing Molina made all the difference in the world as to why the Cards lost the series. If Molina doesn't get hurt, I'm really not sure the Giants beat the Cardinals.

I will say this after watching the 49ers lose the Superbowl in 2012.

It is 50 times more painful to lose the championship than fall short of it. Losing the Super Bowl was the worst feeling I have had as a sports fan since the Giants lost the 2002 World Series to the Angels in 7.

So while I've said above that losing to the Royals is something of a win-win in that it is not the Dodgers or Yankees winning or some other team I hate or who has won a lot in recent years, it would still be devastating for me to watch the Giants lose to the Royals.

10 times over I would rather have seen the Giants lose to the Nationals and just fall well short, than to lose the World Series.

Is is so rare and special for your favorite team to make it as 1 of 2 left standing for winner take all, that teams just have to make the most of the opportunity because it is so hard to come back and you never know how many decades or generations will pass before you do.
