No defense for Hemingway dropping that pass... but you people are ridiculous. If we cut every player on our team that has dropped an important pass like that we would have exactly ZERO WRs/TEs.
Bowe? Avery? Kelce? Fasano? Jenkins?
Our entire team is ass at catching. Up until the drop last week and then this one today, Hemingway was one of the best in this regard. Now obviously he sucks just like the rest. They either all suck or our coaches have no clue how to coach catching the football. It's fucking pathetic.

That was potentially a 14 point drop. If he catches that he just needs to make one guy miss an possibly scores. Instead we give up 80 yards and 7 points

Funny how people key in on the "drops" but forget the clutch 3rd down catches in some of these games.
Was Bowe's drop the most horrendous thing I've ever seen? Yes, and it was even worse than the last game's contortion attempt at an over the shoulder grab that he dropped.
But god damn if he didn't show up to make 2 third down catches for firsts when we needed him today, and that's what its about.
If a guy ultimately makes more positive plays on crucial downs that translate to points on the board, then I want that guy on the team. And that's why both Bowe and Hemingway have roster spots, and why I called it early in this last off season that Hemingway would stay on the active roster, despite serious opposition from CP. Last week, Hemingway did almost the exact same thing Bowe did today, and that's important for a guy who has so little playing time. Ultimately, however, despite some serious bonehead plays today between Bowe, Hemingway, and Jenkins, we DID see improvement, and that's probably the single nicest thing I saw today, aside from the win.

This is what gets me. Every other team gets a couple of catches a game where you just gotta say wow, nice catch. Our receivers can't catch a cold.

Hopefully Wilson will be taking Hemmingway's place by mid-season. I expect much more from a third year receiver.
I'm also losing patience with Jenkins although his speed and ability to run sweeps keeps me hopeful. The play where he stepped out of bounds was one of the dumbest things I've seen all season and makes me wonder if the game is just too big for him.

Wilson was active... caught a pass for 11 yards. Then, vanished. Why, Reid, why???? played 2 total snaps on offense.... why???? :deevee:
