The Donkey's look unstoppable. I am not seeing any team in the AFC that can beat them in the playoffs.

10 weeks or so until the playoffs start. That's a long time. A lot of time for something to go wrong or someone to get hot.

Plus, officiating is a bit different in the playoffs. It's one of my theories as to why Peyton looks like shit in the playoffs, along with just being a choker.

Just like the wild card royals had no business in the playoffs and look how that turned out. If we make the playoffs with a 9-7 record I'll be as happy as if we went 11-5. As long as we make the playoffs that's all that matters right?

True but right now there is no dominating defense in the AFC to slow him down. I think the best hope at this point of Denver not getting to the SB is Manning having a season ending injury.

There is no way possible they can afford all of those high priced free agents. They do this shit every year. I bet their cap guy is Asian.

Here's how they do it:

The Denver Broncos have been fined $950,000 and will lose their third-round pick in next year's NFL draft for circumventing the salary cap between 1996-98.

The penalties were levied Thursday following an agreement involving the league, its union and the team.

The violations included agreements between the team and several players to defer salary payments with interest and an agreement not to waive a player before a certain date. Both raised issues with accounting for the salary cap.

To say the Chargers "suck" would be correct considering the love they were getting from the national media after week 6.

KC is built to beat the Broncos. Had Reid not shoved his head up his damned ass in that game, we could have won it instead of having to try to tie on 4th and goal with a few seconds left.

Our offense can keep Manning on the bench. There's no greater defense against Manning than not letting him on the field. Even with all those "great players" they have on D, they still couldn't get us off the field before we chewed up damn near a full quarter so our kicker could get us nothing in return.

Everyone already knows, and has known for decades that the Broncos are a shady as fuck organization with a complete fuckbag for an owner. From the dirty on field tactics trying to take guys out of the game, to underhanded bullshit like greasing up their jerseys, to paying guys under the fucking table, Bowlen and his shitbag football team have done it all.

Why anyone expects this to change is extremely baffling to me. If you're not cheating, you aren't trying, amirite?

Fuck em. We have the team that can beat them, and even if Reid fucks us out of it again, its only going to pave the way for another legendary Manning choke at some point in the post season.

Its win-win.

Chargers have a good team, I don't know that they're overrated. Bad calls and injuries go both ways. Denver has an explosive offense, hard to contain and the defense is better than last year - although they do bend quite a bit at times.

Denver's remaining schedule:
@ Patriots
@ Raiders - W
@ Rams - W
Dolphins - W
@ Chiefs
Bills - W
@ Chargers
@ Bengals
Raiders - W

Of the remaining 9 games, 6 are on the road. We'll see how Denver does down the stretch with the BYE long gone and the bulk of the road games left to play. @ Pats, @ Chiefs and @ Chargers will all be tough. @ Bengals should be tough, esp if AJ is back.

11 wins is a pretty good projection of worst case on wins. Anything could happen obviously, but 12-13 wins could happen.

I can understand why you say that, but I've watched a lot of non-Denver games too and lots of bad calls going all around, especially this year. If they were to win a title this year, sure it would make sense for him to walk away.

I don't know if he will or not, but being able to walk out on top is likely hard to pass up. My guess is that if he's healthy, that he'll return - they need to find a way to cheat the cap to resign the DT and JT, though. :D

Then, they pay fivehead a massive contract and lo and behold the very next year they're able to bring in THREE MORE big money free agents... its bullshit.

He wanted to go to Denver from the beginning of free agency. He said that he would call his agent every day and ask "Did they (Denver) call?".

Denver didn't pay Emmanuel Sanders any more money than KC was offering, either they matched the numbers or payed a little bit less. If Brandon Lafell would have came to Denver instead of deciding to go to NE, Sanders would most likely be in KC right now.

It's pretty simple. Denver isn't paying $10 million combined to a bad TE (Fasano), a DL who isn't allowed on the field (Walker), and a backup QB.

I'd speculate that it boils down to players who are already so rich they can't spend it all and them wanting a ring; those players want to go to places like Denver so they may actually get that ring.

Between folks like PM being good and he's also the NFL's darling, it's a safe bet that they'll get a chance in Denver. And they'll play for less for that chance.

The biggest cap hits for Ware, Talib and Clady don't hit until 2015 and 2016 (staggered).

Thomas and Miller are on their rookie deals.

Welker's deal wasn't for all that much money.

Ward's deal is a low hit for this year, and still team friendly after that.

Sanders is getting less than Welker.

Vasquez' deal takes a jump after this year, but is team friendly in 2013.

The rest of the roster is on pretty small money.

You don't play for the team, and the game the Broncos lost is their only tough game on the road. The 49ers are a mess right now and were a home game, the Chargers game was stolen by the refs and was a home game, and the Colts game was a close one, even though it was a home opener.

Let's not forget that 6 of Denver's last nine games are away. That means they've played at home a LOT up until now. The Colts had the ball with a chance to tie the game. Slice it any way you want. I prefer objectivity. It was a story of two halves and, in the end, it was a close game.

Denver wasn't playing very well early in the season, we had too many penalties, drops and blown coverages earlier in the year.

People have been blowing that team for its play since week one, so quit with the bullshit.

The wrongfully overturned fumble call changed the game. Instead of the Chargers going into the half with a lead and getting the ball, it ended up with the Broncos going in with the lead. That was a huge (10-14 points) turnaround.

How much of the cap is KC using and how much of that is dead money? Because, honestly, you all sound like a pack of whiny bitches with swollen labia in this thread.

If all that comes to pass, I'll take it back and admit I was wrong.

BUT, the cap situation is separate from all of the envelope pushing your team does with the rules... your team is the ONLY one thats called out around the league for the low blocks and pick plays, its NOT just the AFCW teams that hate you for it.

Solid post, props. Not that I give a fuck about legal blocks or rub plays.

Dean Blandino (VP of officiating) discussing the Caldwell fumble play...

http://nflcommunications.com/2014/10/24/officiating-video-week-7/

Fast forward to about the 3 minute and 30 second mark.

"Slight movement of the football does not constitute a loss of control". The forearm was down before Caldwell lost possession.

I don't care how great Denvers moves are, theyre not earning any of these wins.

Yeah, I posted these pictures in the other thread where everyone is complaining about the fumble reversal:

First picture is right before he's down, second picture is when his forearm (NOT ELBOW) contacts the ground. The ball hasn't moved between the 2 pictures.

Well, not really.

Do you have an example of this being called differently for a different team?

Any other time it was ruled a fumble when the ball moved before the runner is down

Thanks, vail.

If it was the Chiefs that were beating everyones ass thanks in part to bad sportsman tactics, I honestly dont know for sure how I would feel.

a) **** 'em, we rule and you pussies just arent trying hard enough.

or

b) its hard for me to root for the dirtiest team in the league, why cant we just win fair and square.

But either way, what I said is true... you guys are despised around the league for those tactics and are the only ones that consistently use them.

Its nothing personal to you fans... atleast most of you.

Two pictures ain't shit. How about the previous 5?

I watched it live. I saw the slow motion replay. I saw it move. That's a fucking fumble for almost any other team. Period.

Which previous 5? I've seen a million pictures/gifs that show the ball moving before his elbow hits. However, the elbow doesn't matter. His forearm is the first to hit the ground, and the ball does not move before it happens.

It's not a fumble, and I've never seen any play where the ball moves and comes out right AFTER the runner is down called a fumble before. If you have evidence of that happening, please share it.

It wasn't a fumble...

Yes, it was a fumble. Furthermore, even if you want to ride the "it wasn't a fumble" train, it certainly wasn't clear enough evidence to overturn it. And, if we're going to bandy quotes

Former NFL referee Mike Carey has repeatedly said during the CBS broadcast that, in his view, the outcome of the replay review was incorrect.

Mike Carey was wrong, just like he was about the fumble in the Colts-Texans game.

According to the NFL, yes he was.

If your only argument is about an article's source rather than discussing how Mike Carey is not infallible, I can find you a different article about how he was wrong in that instance as well.

The NFL also defended the Seahawks/Packers call. Congrats, you're pointing to the one party that has a stake in people believing the officials aren't ****ing up.

Uh... not really. They said that Tate should have been called for PI, which would have resulted in a GB win. The only thing they "defended" was that a ruling of simultaneous possession goes to the offense. In essence, they said that the call was wrong and Green Bay should have won.

That was also what lead to the ref lockout ending, so obviously the league wasn't happy about it.

Denver got flagged for both of those things in this game.
