I'll bet if she fell down, those pants would bust open like a tube of biscuits.

She should try to replicate the same video, wearing sweat pants and a looser shirt, and maybe again dressed business casual. I'm curious what the results would be.
A woman should be able to walk down a street and feel safe. I saw 3-4 things that I consider inappropriate, some of the others a just comments or compliments that
someone has to WANT to be offended to be offended. She should have tazed that douchebag that followed her 5 minutes.

"Hey" - "How are you this morning?" - "Have a nice evening." - "Hello - good morning. God bless you - have a good day, alright?"

OMG HARASSMENT!!!!!111

This entire video is misleading. No one walks 10 hours a day, half of these cat calls came from pan handlers, and look at her? If her clothes were any tighter her blood would stop circulating.

In college, our dorm had prison style, gang showers...open room, wall of showers.

There was a floor that had "interesting characters" next to our floor. There was a chubby older fellow who used our bathroom. One day, I was in the shower and when he came in he decided to use the shower directly next to mine(obvious violation of every man code ever written) when there were 4 other options further away.

As he hung his Easter basket of goodies he made some dumbass comment that got a reaction from myself. As his basket bounced across the room, words with tones of violence escaped my mouth....and he left.

That's probably as close to harassed as I've been.....

The only other time I can think of I walked into an after hours bar under the holiday inn??, I think along 435 with a couple of loads of cowboys....and it was not the type of crowd I would have anticipated. Those fellows seemed to really like cowboys for some reason.

Being nose to nose with people on the Subway, waiting at a stoplight, etc. Just saying hi or good morning or hey there to a nice looking girl you pass on the street, that's harassment? Anybody who gives a fuck about scaled degrees of "night life" in major cities in the US is a pea wit. If you're into night time partying, you're telling me you can't get the exact same shit in Boston that you can get in New York? You can't find clubs/drugs/booze/bars/restaurants/hookers in Boston but you can in New York?

New York's arts and culture are top notch. I recognize that Broadway is something special to NY. I fucking hate musicals and would much rather see the Met Opera, but it's not like that's really anything special compared to the brilliant opera houses of Europe. And yeah, NY has got some great museums. So does Boston. And Philly. And Chicago. And LA. Christ, even Houston has one of the best art museums I've ever been to.

I'm not saying big cities aren't cool. Big cities are fucking awesome. But people dig New York over the other big ones for entirely fucking stupid reasons. That's all I'm saying.

It is no surprise to me that men don't think there is anything wrong with it, otherwise they wouldn't do it. Please do me a favor for just one minute. Try to see her perspective and really listen to the things I am about to say.

Predators do not generally approach you in a threatening manner and get right down to scaring and or raping you. It starts with a greeting. Maybe followed by a very generic conversation. It generally includes flattery, and at some point you have missed the opportunity to just ignore them, and now they are following you. You are almost to work (or worse home) but you are scared to stop there because then they know where you will be in the future, and you don't want that, so maybe you go someplace like a grocery store hoping they will lose interest. At some point you have to make a statement of disinterest, but there is a risk there too.

Have you misjudged this person? Perhaps, but this is a regular occurrence and it becomes very difficult to discern the benign from the dangerous until it truly becomes scary. Make no mistake, most women have had many of these moments get to the scary zone, and that leads to assuming any instance can become scary.

I know most men are good respectful gentlemen whose intentions are harmless, but women are telling you that they can't tell the difference easily and asking the good ones to stop camouflaging the bad ones by ending verbal harassment by those with no ill intent. Think of it as a favor to your sisters and daughters.

Would you be interested in seeing my bald-headed rat?

Some of those comments in the video ARE harassment. A bunch of them aren't.

The woman who put together the video included the benign ones in with the obvious ones. If she's trying to make a point about sexual harassment on the streets, she did a pretty fucking shitty job of it.

So much this.

Plus, she looked pissed off. And/or on a mission. Trying to make a person smile shouldn't be off limits. I bet if she came stomping up to a stop light I was waiting at, with her silence, and brooding stare, I'd say something. I can almost guarantee it. My joke might fall on deaf ears, but I'd enjoy it.

Ok where do you draw the line between verbal harassment and asking a stranger out for coffee or a date...or trying to say hello...or saying "wow you are so beautiful, you just made my whole day better"...you wanna go out sometime? Lets go right now! I know this awesome place for chinese food / coffee/ etccccc

Exactly , they filmed 10 hours and they got about 1 minute of one black dude following her and another minute of people saying hi...

If she simply smiled back at people and said thanks or said 'not interested' they might have had to edit down to about 15 seconds

She could have said "no thanks" or "not interested" or "sorry I'm taken" and if the guys still didn't leave her alone, a case could be made for "harassment" perhaps. But they couldn't even get that to happen apparently, so fuck this video. It's stupid. Reading the youtube comments makes me weep for society. As they usually do...

I don't think we are going to agree on that line, but I do understand what you are saying. I also went to rewatch the video in case I was being overly sensitive, and that they really were just saying hi, but they are not. One guy the whole time says a simple hello, and oddly the nicest greeting is the how are you today, god bless you from the guy who then follows her for five minutes so I'm not sure what to think of that one. The rest of them are exclaiming in some way that she is attractive.

I don't think anyone has a right to not be spoken to, nor do I want to walk around like robots not acknowledging one another, but having a general understanding of how your comments are actually being perceived can help an individual decide how they choose to behave on a public street. There are alot of these videos and also articles trying to give some perspective. It is good to have these conversations. Wouldn't you like to know that a woman you approached out of the blue could believe you were sincere and take you seriously when you want to ask her out instead of considering your compliment in the context of a barrage of noise she has to endure while simply going about her day?

First one, right out of the Chute - "How you doin' today" - 14 seconds
Second one, part of that first talk, from a different person - "Smile" - 17 seconds
Little later - "Hey, what's up Girl, how you doin" - 21-23 seconds
Little later - "How are you this morning" - 38 seconds
Little later - "Have a nice evening" - 40 seconds

So, within the first 40 seconds, you've got 5 examples that show you to be full of it.

We've existed as a society for how long, and now it seems is the time where people want to have these conversations. People are overly sensitive to the most mundane, typical stuff now for whatever reason. Attractive women get comments all the time, and that's never going to change. Of course a lot of those men have sex on the brain. That's just nature. It doesn't mean she's gonna get raped or assaulted.

I really just don't see what the problem is. She isn't being harmed. Attractive women are gonna get annoying comments. But big deal. Attractive women also tend to get benefits from being attractive so I'd say the pros outweigh the cons.

It seriously doesn't strike you guys that all of the "Dayum"s and "Hey sexy"s and "If I give you my number, will you speak to me"s might be a tad intrusive for a woman just minding her own business? 100 episodes in 10 hours is once every six minutes of walking on the street; for a woman with a fifteen minute walk each way, that's five times every day at that rate. That's a lot to listen to, even for New York City.

The tight clothes and big boobs don't matter; neither are tacit invitations for the harassment. Many of the places she's walking are in downtown Manhattan, near Times Square; these are not the slums. And the point is to let guys know better, regardless of how they were raised.

Went out to dinner with my family tonight. I showed the video to my mother. Her response:

"You've got to be kidding me.

Some of those are bad, but the others..."

The waitress' response when she heard us and we showed the first 40 seconds to her: "THAT'S supposed to be harassment?"

Then, as we're all laughing about it, an even more edited tease of it comes on CNN on one of the restaurant's TV screens.

Two thougts:

1. As much as I dislike NYC it holds some of the hottest women on the planet earth with the exception of East German Bobsled team girls. If I were stinky rich as in a 2nd house I'd have one in NYC just because it's pretty cool to visit and to look at the tail.

2. Give that chick 5 years and a couple grey hairs when here tits are bouncing off her knees. She'll be pining for "fat chicks get no attention in NYC". Whiney bitches gonna be whiney.

I'd love to see how these funds are distributed btw.

I was walking around tonight, and made a conscious effort to not catcall any women since apparently they don't like it.

On my walk, I heard a funny conversation, though. Two women were coming toward me, and one of them was a bright-eyed, cute petite blonde. (The other one was unattractive so I don't even remember her as other than a vague presence, which is still more attention than how I'm treated on the street.)

As they passed me, the perky blonde was saying to the other one, "So I went in and had an interview with David, but that was a couple of months ago, so I doubt he even remembers me."

Okay, women are clueless. You're a bright-eyed perky petite blonde. Unless this David person is gay, there's no way that he DOESN'T remember you. In fact, he's probably thinking about you right now. Do you really think that you can go interview with a guy as a bright-eyed perky petite blonde and he's not going to remember you? Sometimes I think that women make no effort at all to understand how the male mind works.

When one user asked why the video does not appear to represent the actions of men from all backgrounds like it claims, Bliss said the numbers were more even during filming, but the New York noise pollution meant many of them were edited out of the final cut.

He added: "We got a fair amount of white guys, but for whatever reason, a lot of what they said was in passing, or off camera. So their scenes were a lot shorter, but the numbers themselves are relatively even.

"Also, we didn't always capture the audio or video well -- there's a siren that kills the scene, or someone walks in front of the camera, so we had to work with what we had.

Not really. She walked by thousands and thousands of people and this is the best she could come up with. When I walk around the streets of NY I get panhandlers and "charity" workers calling out to me with good mornings and have a nice day.

I thought it would be much worse with that sample size the density of that city. Also, women should be able to wear what they want, but she puts her wardrobe in the opening like she's proving that she isn't intentionally provoking a response. Just jeans and a crew neck t-shirt. Then you see her and they are painted on. Pretty disingenuous.

That follower dude was creepy as fuck, though. My girlfriend is working in NY for the next few months while I'm in LA and that makes me want her to pick up some mace or something.

That dude was scary creepy but I have to wonder what it looks like from across the street. I'm assuming in front of the stoic stomping woman is a stoic stomping friend with a backpack and a camera. So you have this (short) line of people just marching down the street not saying anything. So the creeper joins in. It's weird. No one is saying anything. She's just following this backpack. He's on crack. He's just curious.

But, for sure. Buy her the mace.

It's kind of unrelated, but I'm on a train today and I'm sitting in first class. (It's nice, but it's not like it was way more expensive.)

Sitting in first class are businesspeople and middle-aged people like myself. We're the people who pay for it.

Waltzing in comes some party girl. You know the type. Young, midriff-baring top, and clearly thinks she's more attractive than she is. Maybe a 7 on the Derek scale if the lighting is low. She sits down and I think, "I bet you don't have a first-class ticket and you're just squatting up here."

Sure enough, the conductor comes and checks tickets and tells her that she only has a coach ticket and tells her, "four cars back". I watch her leave and she goes back to the next car and immediately sits down in another first-class seat.

I despise people like that and I want to kill them with a baseball bat that has a nail in it. And the only people I ever see do this are young party women who think they're more attractive than they are.

So I guess I would say, "Stop thinking you're better than everybody else just because you're young and female".

That said, that one guy was really creepy and people shouldn't flirt with strange women on the street. It's not classy, just like stealing a first class seat isn't classy.

Plus, if you flirt with a woman on the street, you never know if she's crazy. I saw that Fatal Attraction movie.

On a related note, I take good care of myself. I'm not an adonis, but I'm in good shape and I have really good calves. You run mountain races and you get good calves.

So I'm traveling right now and end up in a gym. I'm doing the treadmill thing, and it faces a mirror so I can see behind me covertly. I'm treadmilling, and I'm on a really steep angle, and I know - I know - that my calves are looking pretty darn fine.

Women will walk behind me frequently given how the treadmills are arranged, and I surreptitiously look in the mirror to see the women admire my calves, and probably 20 women walk by.

Not only do none of them acknowledge my great calves, but none of them even acknowledged my existence. Not a glance in my direction. Nothing. Zero. I would have gotten more looks if I had been a philodendron. I had more guys who looked at my great calves (in a manly admiring way) than women.

I've never been more disgusted in my life. It's not like I'm in the market, but I have good calves and it would be nice to have them appreciated once in a while. If NYC walking woman wants to complain about life now, just try walking in my shoes, where you're completely invisible.

Looks like she's got 1 C tit and one DD tit.

And she's squishy.

She's cute. Probably about a 5 or 6 without all the makeup.

Tits, however, appear to be 8s at the very least. And those hips and thighs would lead me to believe she's got a nice booty pokin' back there.
