Chris Owens has been out a couple weeks, but looks to be returning. He was "limited" in practice this week, as was Eric Berry. Jamell Fleming has been completely out of practice with a hamstring.

Since the area is completely unpredictable right now, let's go nuts.

If you're Sutton:

1. What does our starting secondary look like if Owens and Berry returns, but Fleming is out?

2. What does our secondary look like if Berry comes back, but Owens and Fleming are out?

3. What does our secondary look like if Owens comes back, but Berry and Fleming remain out?

4. What does our secondary look like if none of them come back?

5. What does our secondary look like if all of them come back?

1. Smith & Gaines at CB, Owens at NCB, Berry/Parker w/ Abdullah as dime back.

2. Smith & Cooper at CB, Gaines at NCB, Abdullah/Parker w/ Coleman as dime back.

3. Smith & Gaines at CB, Owens at NCB, Abdullah/Parker w/ Coleman as dime back.

4. Smith & Cooper at CB, Gaines at NCB, Abdullah/Parker w/ Coleman as dime back.

5. Smith & Gaines at CB, Owens at NCB, Berry/Parker w/ Abdullah as dime back.

Basically, I'm going hardcore pimping for Gaines to start on the outside, and saying **** Jamell Fleming.

Just watched the presser from yesterday with Andy, he said Berry was out there. didnt say limited or anything.

Anyways, as long as we got that pass rush we are ok. Passrush makes everything better.

Passrush is the bacon of football.

People are just not getting this.

Our pass rush is succeeding because Sutton is doing a great job of mixing up coverages and and putting the secondary in position to compete.

This rush is not going to get to Manning in 2.5 seconds or less, so this secondary will have to continue to play at this level.

The Seahawks formula, is it not?

Correct. Our secondary has done a good job of keeping the play in front of them and playing physical. They don't cause many turnovers, but they're doing their job. Our pass rush will never get to a QB in less than 3 seconds, and I'm not sure why people think it will.

Do we need a secondary to stop the Jets passing game?

Yeah, the pass rush was great early last season and early this season. Not surprisingly, the secondary has played well during those times.

But I'd say any secondary would struggle if there's no pass rush. Some can do better than others, but you still need to put some pressure in a good QB's face.

Also, teams picked us apart last season on crossing routes, and I haven't seen too much of that this year. Even against Denver and San Diego, who were our biggest bullies last season, we contained that play well this time around. Not sure if Sutton made adjustments or what.

I hope to be wrong, but yes. Their team is capable of doing damage. Definitely on the ground.. but if (and yeah, it's a big if) a QB can pull head out of ass... the Chiefs could look foolish to walk into this game thinking easy win.

Same principal, except that the Hawks run a lot of cover 3, while the Chiefs still run a ton of man.
They just aren't lining up tight and bumping, with the exception of Smith.

As three7s said, keep everything in front and tackle.

It isn't that people think the pass rush is getting there in less than 3 seconds.
It's about recognizing that the secondary is doing their jobs, allowing the pass rush to do theirs.

It'd be nice to see Berry back out there this week, its time.

As long as he's ready to come back. I don't wanna see him re-aggravate his foot.
