Bill's offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett: Kansas City Chiefs challenged Kyle Orton, Buffalo Bills to throw on key drive

The Buffalo Bills were in position to win the game.

Down four points, the Bills took over at the Kansas City Chiefs' 25-yard line with four minutes and 35 seconds to play in the game. Just 25 yards stood between them and a go-ahead touchdown. The drive started how the Bills wanted. A quick pass from Kyle Orton to Robert Woods and two consecutive running plays netted the Bills a first down. Now they were 15 yards from the end zone with 2:47 left in the game.

The four plays that followed will haunt the Bills, and they are the ones that have caused the second-guessing of offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Four times the Bills attempted passes to the end zone, and four times the passes fell incomplete. The Bills turned the ball over on downs and ultimately lost 17-13 to fall to 5-4 on the season.

That explains a lot though. I wondered why they didn't run it, because we were getting gashed.

Sutton basically said: fuck you, Orton has to win this game.

And he FAILED.

Big old balls on our old man DC.

Well, no shit. Why would KC want anything but passing considering their pass rush and horrible rush defense?

Smart move by Sutton. A quick TD there isn't devastating. Make them throw it.

This is the second miss Hackett is referring to. Again, the Chiefs stacked the box, this time leaving another safety back. Orton forced a pass into coverage intended for Hogan in the corner of the end zone.

They're showing quarters out of dime and that's stacking the box? LMAO

At the 15 yard line the Chiefs defense doesn't have to worry about covering deep.

Allowed them to be much more aggressive about bringing extra people on 1st down. That freaked Orton out for the rest of the downs.

our safeties maintained good position
