They had to. Coleman/McCray aren't legit options at safety.

This is the important question. I'm not too worried about Gaines but Manning can exploit a weak nickel all day.

I said he'd be our number 1 corner by 2015 week 1 back in the Summer. This is the start of it.

I'll eat the crow if it comes, but this kid has all of the skills to be big time.

Manning doesn't have to do $3it other than lob the floater up there after the corner is beat.

It's not like he's been throwing lasers this year...

I'm basing this off three things:

1) Rookie CB vs. 5head.
2) Our secondary not looking great last week without a pass rush.
3) Gaines not being very strong and not being the most physical corner.

As much as I love EBerry I think getting Parker out of the corner spot has to help... he plays damn good at safety.

Smith is one of the best CBs in the game. No way Gaines can be as good as him by next year

Think this is exactly why they have him listed as our #2 and not Cooper/Fleming. Either of those two would get abused by Sanders... but this leaves the question of who will cover Welker.

Sure it will be a good test...but I'm afraid he's going to get a "F" against their cheating pick play..... Plus I've watched him chase receivers without getting his head around all season.

Parker has looked significantly better at safety than corner.

Gaines has improved A LOT over this year. I was hoping Flemming would be back.

The truth is, a pass rush and putting Manning on the ground takes care of these issues.

5 Head will certainly target him - the way he did Cooper last year. Lets hope Gains fares better. If not - it's gonna be a long night.

It's going to be up to our defensive line to generate pressure on Manning. He'll do the same shit he did last year. Quick passes until the defense gets tired and then it's deep ball time.

Manning stepping up into the pocket > Manning scrambling to the left or right.

The outside rush just takes too long for 5head. We need to get in his face...

When his pocket crumbles, it's when he rushes throws. It's hard to get to him constantly, need to just take away time on his throws.

During preseason....Sutton was using the formation where Houston would line up on the inside and Ford was on the outside with Hali. It's time for Ford to step up and show us what he's capable of.
